yes I got a date for next month, finally.
We are going to redo the medical and criminality before the interview and hope for a smooth process from here on out.

I wouldn't redo the medical until they instruct you to do it.MissSauce said:Finally! Congrats. You're a breath away.

when we received the interview date, we emailed asking about the medical and if he should redo it, they told us not to and to wait until further notice, even at the end of his interview when he was told he was approved, he asked if he could go for medical the next day and they said no.MissSauce said:I hear what you guys are saying about the medical..
however, i know the initial medical is expired. I don't want to have to wait another month for them to instruct us on how to do the medical again, and force my husband to travel all the way back to santo domingo.
I have read about people who have gone to the interview with a second medical as well as passport, which they have taken on the spot. Seems to have sped up the process.
I'm willing to try my luck, the worst thing that could happen, is we would have to do it again. however, if we do it correctly the first time, I don't see why that would be an issue.

June 6th we sent the package (with NO prepaid airway bill since DHL does not do this) (2500 pesos)
June 8th was emailed to package was delivered
June 9th went to DHL to set up a pickup (will cost 5500 pesos upon delivery)
June 10th got an email from Embassy saying they need a prepaid airway bill or account number and "Please ensure that you submit the required documents/information within the next 5 days."
June 10th sent embassy email stating that DHL does offer prepaid airway bill and that a pick up was ordered and that if any issues please contact us
June 13th went to DHL. I was informed that an email was sent to embassy and NO reply as of yet. ( They misinformed me on how the pickup would be arranged)
June 13th sent an email to embassy stating that DHL was waiting for a reply and if any issues please reply
June 15th went by DHL and no reply by embassy
June 15th out of curiosity went by FedEx to get a quote $50 USD and found next door someone who would allow me to use their account number. An option anyhow.
June 16th Sent a fax to the Embassy administration explaining some of the above.
Why all this, we need to vacate the apartment by end of month.
Plus if someone send you an email saying that you have 5 days then the least they could do is respond to one of our emails saying everything will be alright.
Very unprofessional
They need a better communication setup
Bottom line if I would have found a courier service that has prepaid airway bill then the passport would be here already
Congrats!!!!sb414 said:so finally my husband landed last night!
the airport was pretty busy so it took him a while to get everything done but woohooo!! finally this process is over!!
What did you finally have to do?Mrschino said:This is exactly what happened to us!! They won't let you prepay but you can prepay once the embassy requests it??? It was extremely expensive to use Dhl and a pain in the ass. Once the passport was sent from Mexico, it arrived in less than 24 hours, but not worth the stress. FedEx wouldn't let us send the passport via courier!
the line up for customs was long, he spent most of his time waiting in that line.fradan said:What did you finally have to do?
How long did it take?
SIN on the spotsb414 said:the line up for customs was long, he spent most of his time waiting in that line.
the actual immigration process was pretty quick and also got his sin number on the spot!
Ended up that DHL started bugging immigration until they said it was ready for pick up. Took three weeks from prepay waybillfradan said:What did you finally have to do?
