Thanks god you are almost done, and in God will you will get that passport soon,
I think if an applicant goes more than the time that they mark, it should send an
Enquiry wich it's almost nothing and then get the mp involved even before to get
To that extreme situation, hopefully as you say the move quicker and get all that
Family's together and begin to enjoy life as a couple.

I have had my MP involved for the last 7 months, he has been great, but on Mexico's side.. they have not been very helpful.

I'm curious, what happens if someone's application goes over the posted processing times? Probably nothing?

When we first applied, everyone always told me thst even though it says 15 months or 17 months, it won't take that long. Well, we are approaching 17 months!!! Just waiting for the passport back now with PR visa.. they have had it for 3 weeks already. What should have been such an easy application turned into a nightmare!

Also, to give you some hope, I know someone, a dominican applicant, just got passport request and they applied October 2015! I guess Mexico is starting to pick things up

You are still waiting???? Drives me crazy seeing others get the passport back in a week but ours were both over three weeks.

my scenario is a bit different.
my husband originally sent his passport to mexico on april 6, for his visitor visa. we got ppr 2 days after.. so they issued the visitor visa and then passed it on, for the pr to be issued. they finalllllly acknowledged yesterday (3 weeks later) that they have everything they need and can finally finalize it. but did mention it could be another 2-3 weeks.
it never ends!

I can't believe your luck!! And their lack of communication obviously. Id say it's frustrating because he could have been with you for so long now!

as soon as they sent PPR, we asked what to do because they had his passport but they were requesting new photos and the confirmation of his intended address in Canada.. they didn't give us an answer until last week, they personally called my husband and said they are not sending back the visitor visa and for him to comply asap or they will assume he is no longer interested!!! so he mailed the photos asap, they recieved them last friday, and only yesterday they acknowledge they have it

ok, so it is on it's way back. It takes a few days, and depends on which day it actually was sent out

The interview was a success. :)

I want to say thanks for everyone’s advice and special thank’s to sb414 for sharing her husband’s interview experience, where after his interview the police clearance was requested. Hence made me think of getting my wife to acquire it and translate it prior to the interview. This along with 50 photos, phone call billing, Facebook messenger export (this time I didn’t bother to translate), evidence of financial support, e-tickets and photocopy of all pages of my current passport were part of the package that we submitted at the interview.

The interview lasted 40 to 50 minutes during which I pasted the time chatting in the waiting area with other interviewers. Reviewing the application form IMM5490E and the practicing the questions on the “Mexico City VO Family Class Applicants - timeline spreadsheet” helped my wife considerably. I think she would have been more nervous if we didn’t practice. She did answer some questions wrong that pertained to dates because she isn’t good with dates but they didn’t realize the error or it wasn’t important for the overall evaluation. Them seeing her honest responses was the important factor to the positive outcome.

At the end of the interview she signed a few documents and they returned everything we submitted this time and from the original application. They said that in a week that we would receive an email to redo the medical. They kept the police clearance and took her passport. Is this a passport request.

Hopefully this will help someone with their interview.

I hope they return it quickly! Our interview was over 2 months ago and are waiting for them to return the passport, but they didn't take it during the interview.
