The interview was a success.

I want to say thanks for everyone’s advice and special thank’s to sb414 for sharing her husband’s interview experience, where after his interview the police clearance was requested. Hence made me think of getting my wife to acquire it and translate it prior to the interview. This along with 50 photos, phone call billing, Facebook messenger export (this time I didn’t bother to translate), evidence of financial support, e-tickets and photocopy of all pages of my current passport were part of the package that we submitted at the interview.

The interview lasted 40 to 50 minutes during which I pasted the time chatting in the waiting area with other interviewers. Reviewing the application form IMM5490E and the practicing the questions on the “Mexico City VO Family Class Applicants - timeline spreadsheet” helped my wife considerably. I think she would have been more nervous if we didn’t practice. She did answer some questions wrong that pertained to dates because she isn’t good with dates but they didn’t realize the error or it wasn’t important for the overall evaluation. Them seeing her honest responses was the important factor to the positive outcome.

At the end of the interview she signed a few documents and they returned everything we submitted this time and from the original application. They said that in a week that we would receive an email to redo the medical. They kept the police clearance and took her passport. Is this a passport request.

Hopefully this will help someone with their interview.

so they took her passport!? that saves her some money right there!
I hope they return it quickly! Our interview was over 2 months ago and are waiting for them to return the passport, but they didn't take it during the interview.

I think Mexico just likes to do things their way and change things up!
But whatever, she was approved and that's all that matters!

Mexico requested passport, photos etc on April 20th and gave us til May 5th to respond. We sent everything April 22nd by Fedex and it was delivered to Mexico on April 27th according to the tracking number. We still have not heard from Mexico and tomorrow we will be in limbo.

Is this normal for Mexico not to acknowledge receipt of everything before the date expires that they give you to comply. Not feeling very comfortable at present, but what choices do we have? What happens after May 5th? I am only concerned about the deadline not the waiting. Has this happened to anyone else? Any input would be appreciated.

nothing to worry about! it's typical of them not to acknowledge anything!
if the tracking information says they receieved it, then it's all good. if for some reason they didn't receieve it, they would contact you again! hope they send it back quickly.. we are waiting too

That would be crazy if that happen.
Maybe it was us having the police background check with us at the interview
Or maybe we got lucky having a more efficient immigration officer

Do you know if you need to provide more photos? When they finally requested my husbands passport, they required 2 more photos.

So strange how the process keeps changing!

nothing to worry about! it's typical of them not to acknowledge anything!
if the tracking information says they receieved it, then it's all good. if for some reason they didn't receieve it, they would contact you again! hope they send it back quickly.. we are waiting too

No photos asked at interview just this note in the latest email "- Four recent photographs (photos are not required if the panel physician is listed as “eMedical enabled” on the CIC website listed above)"

Got the medical redone today.
I thought I paid online before but couldn't find where.
So I ended up paying $200 USD at the centre.
Did others pay the same?
The doctor only ask for 1 of the 4 photos we had.
I am thinking of being proactive and sending the rest to Mexico.

my husband paid $200 usd for the medical.
if Mexico didn't ask for photos, don't waste your money to mail them. From Santo Domingo, it costs 2000 pesos to mail to Mexico.. more if you are not in the capital
