Hello,

Anybody know if I have to translate my husband's passport for MIDI (Quebec Immigration). ?

Translation
If you submit documents or parts of documents in a language other than French or English, you must provide:
• the document in its original language, in the required format (original, certified true copy or photocopy);
• the original of the complete translation done by a recognized translator. To learn the requirements for translations and the
definition of a recognized translator, consult our Web site at www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/document-requirements.
If the original document is written in French or English but includes a seal or a signature in another language, you must have them translated.

The dominican passport is in English and Spanish.

Even after reading this i'm confused.

Quebec immigration sounds confusing.

I find they could have at least listed the documents to be translated. Or maybe it is simpler than we think... but right now i'm just lost.

Interview next week. Getting excited. ;D

Just curious what is the interview room like.

Are you alone with the interviewer and translator?
Is your spouse with you?
Is it a relax environment?
Are you sitting or standing.

Thanks

give yourself a lot of extra time.. you have to check in with the receptionist on the mail floor and then go through a quick scanner before you go up the elevator. when you step off the elevator, you check in again and have to hand over your phones, keys, and they lock them up. then you go through a quick metal detector and they bring you to the waiting room. there are a bunch of chairs, and there was a tv playing videos about how to immigrate to canada.
i was allowed to wait with my husband in the waiting room, but your not allowed to go into the interview room.
somebody came out and asked for our additional documents and the updated forms, and after ten minutes, he was called into the room.
in the room was the interviewer, and the translator. it wasnt very big, just a couple of chairs and a desk.
since they schedule interviews every hour, there might be another person waiting, but my suggestion is dont try to talk to much to them lol, the security guard didnt like that too much!! lol

good luck and try to stay calm.. both of you.

if you sent it with the VAC, then no. the only tracking you can do is with the tracking number provided by VAC, but they don't give many details where the passport is

I'm curious, what happens if someone's application goes over the posted processing times? Probably nothing?

When we first applied, everyone always told me thst even though it says 15 months or 17 months, it won't take that long. Well, we are approaching 17 months!!! Just waiting for the passport back now with PR visa.. they have had it for 3 weeks already. What should have been such an easy application turned into a nightmare!

Also, to give you some hope, I know someone, a dominican applicant, just got passport request and they applied October 2015! I guess Mexico is starting to pick things up

Thanks god you are almost done, and in God will you will get that passport soon,
I think if an applicant goes more than the time that they mark, it should send an
Enquiry wich it's almost nothing and then get the mp involved even before to get
To that extreme situation, hopefully as you say the move quicker and get all that
Family's together and begin to enjoy life as a couple.
