I received my blue book from the appeals office today. How do I know when the hearing date is?
I was angry to see that all of our proof wasn't in the blue book. Just a couple posts from our facebooks, couple pictures. Like what the heck is that? All my original proof went to that visa office and I never got it back!
You need to wait for IAD to contact yourself or your representative. They have a scheduling phone call to decide what's open and available for everyone. This can take a months, yr or two yrs. Depends on where you are in Canada. Also depends on how easy it is to answer to refusal reasons. Where are you and what are reasons for refusal?
In the mean time. You need all you proof? Idk if this is a new trend. Not sending all of the file. Or are they only short changing the appellant. Or does IAD & CSBA also not get the whole file? This is what I told another who also had things missing. Go inquire about it? Ask MP or MLA to also inquire. They can't help to make adr or appeal faster. But this doesn't seem right. How can IAD decide if they don't see all evidence? From the start of the appeal.

Unfortunately this is just how they are, and they don't seem to care that much, especially because they know most people will not say anything. This is why I made sure I had my own copy of everything and I had a record of everything that had been sent or received while dealing with them. CBSA and CIC most likely have the entire file, but I don't think the IAD gets to see everything because AFAIK they treat your case based on what's on paper. My guess is that paper applications take a long time to digitize since they usually have hundreds of pages, so they just don't bother. I think in cases like this the person should definitely point out in their appeal that CIC hasn't attached all the documents they had previously sent while also re-sending them, it lets the IAD know that you did have way more proof than they made it look like.

Sometimes they wait for reports back from agencies. Or other countries. For example if your husband travelled outside the country.
Are you logging in with your husband's UCI or your own?

You should contact your lawyer about that, he may be able to give you a better answer since we don't know much about your file. Are you talking about applying for refugee status in Canada or in India? If you mean Canada, it would probably end up taking the same amount of time to get refugee status as it will take to have your appeal processed.

I know nothing about that, sorry. I think stay on this course, don't start trying all kinds of ways to immigrate. You can do this. Just takes time.
Your wife talking with mp this week? Mp can't give legal advice. But they will at least inquire or point your wife in right direction how to make things go better with file/appeal.

Does anyone know if I contact IAD, would they be able to tell me if they made a decision on my hearing? Can they say if they mailed the letter?

I had the same issue. My blue book was sent with no proof - just the forms. I think it is a case by case depending on the visa officer that you get. It looks like this is a new trend in an effort to save time and effort. The problem is IAD doesn't know the proof you sent in if you didn't explain something in detail as they would like on the form. Plus side good to submit these docs again.

You should be able to contact the IAD and reference your file number and the case worker can let you know if they have mailed anything

Then apply immediately. See what happens. But that means never being able to go back to your country correct?
