Thread For applications Through SYDNEY (AUSTRALIA) Office

Do you have a job that you will be returning to? Or anything that links you to the country your coming from such as home ownership etc. If you do bring evidence of that just in case. But you will just be asked why you are coming to Canada, who/where you will be staying, how long etc. If you...

Thread For applications Through SYDNEY (AUSTRALIA) Office

Don't apply for a TRV, the ESTA I imagine is like the States where you will get it pretty much straight away (presuming you have no criminal issues) and from what I've seen that are pretty good about letting you visit your spouse while a PR application is well and truly in process. Make sure you...

    Volunteering

Yeah those are the kind of things I was leaning towards doing. I thought the line becomes more blurry though if for example I was to volunteer in an administrative position for say a shelter or food bank. Or say tutoring at a local library, despite all the people doing it being volunteers...

CIC has changed the way you view processing times

So do we think that the reason they've made this change is to pretty much safeguard themselves from people calling them once their application went past their visa offices listed time?

    Volunteering

Interested in what types of volunteering people did while in Canada awaiting their application to be processed. I know CIC has quite strict guidelines on what is allowed. Is it always best to ring up their contact centre and get confirmation on if a particular type of volunteering is allowed first?

CIC has changed the way you view processing times

I doubt that new applications sent in will get their SA in 10 days. What will happen is that it means 10 days from AOR, which will still take 50 days or whatever. I imagine there will be a lot of people who will be expecting to hear from the CIC within two weeks of sending of their application...

CIC has changed the way you view processing times

So really they're saying it take 10 days to assess the sponsor, but about 40-50 days to get round to assessing the sponsor.
