    COPR without PPR

    You need to "land." Come to Canada with papers in hand and you will finish the process, or, if you are already in Canada, exit and re-enter or make an appointment at a nearby CIC office.

    CAN I MAINTIAN US GREENCARD AND THE CANADIAN PR CARD AT THE SAME TIME?

    The existence of one does not affect the other. They both have residency requirements that must be met. I'm not familiar with the rules around the US green card but in order to maintain Canadian Permanent Residency you must reside in Canada for a 2 year period in the last 5 years.

    SIN Expiring?

    You should have a provincial health program identification card or number that you registered for and received shortly after you landed. In Quebec they look like this:

    Entering back to Canada from the U.S

    The travel document/PR card is to satisfy requirements commercial carriers (airlines, bus companies, etc) must meet when transiting people to the border. They must verify that someone has the necessary status to enter Canada, or they must pay the cost to return that person when they cannot...

    relationship evidence question & others

    He will get a printout from the doctor after the examination that has some identifying information that will allow them to link the results they receive directly from the doctor electronically with the file they create when they receive your paperwork. I did my medical and mailed my application...

    Freelancing Software Developer, should I even try?

    I am doing exactly this (sponsored by my wife, freelance developer) and I have had no issues. Taxes are a bit of a pain, you may want to look into establishing a consulting company in Canada once you are a permanent resident, but immigration-wise it's very straightforward. Is your son a...

    Marriage After getting PR

    As long as you did not live together, there is no basis for a claim that your relationship is "marriage-like" according to the law and you would not have needed to include your future spouse on your application for PR. Once you have landed and have PR status, you can marry him and sponsor him as...

    Is this landlord letter valid?

    If the crossing out was to make the time spent there LONGER I think you might have a bit more trouble, but I think since it's correcting it to a shorter period of time they probably won't even give it a second glance.

    Driving from Canada to Mexico

    Yup. You are free to enter the USA for up to six months at a time, transit or not, as long as you are not criminally inadmissible. They may be curious about your job offer in Mexico, but you should have no problems. Your birth certificate is also totally unnecessary, your passport is acceptable...

    Entering Canada with wife to apply outland; what to say at border?

    Entering with a lot of stuff (sentimental things, anything that would show her "settling") will probably be used to refuse her, be careful about what she brings.

    How to "land" in Canada? (Applied Outland, but staying inland on a visitor visa)

    You could land at Sarnia, too, if that's closer. Any large land border station will do it. Also, if you go the CIC office route, you can register for OHIP etc before your landing appointment with your COPR, so you don't add to the waiting period.

    Application returned?

    Check your other forms, IMM0008, IMM5409 (if applicable), and IMM5476 (if applicable) have all been updated since then.

    Application returned?

    The latest update to the packet was in April to IMM0008. They removed the "visa office requested for processing" field because they just decide for you anyway. Why they can't just look past that and decide for you like they will when you resubmit is beyond me.

    Advice needed - US->CAN Out/In/etc

    There was a thread just recently sometpwhere talking about ways to get it expedited. Someone figured they could get it done in around two weeks' time if you sent things to the right places and said it was for needed immigration. I will see if I can find it.

    Advice needed - US->CAN Out/In/etc

    Most are. Seriously. CBSA officers have told me more than once that they're basically useless when it comes to things this straightforward like sponsorship applications. We sent about 200 photos of us during dating and our wedding, a link to the YouTube video of me proposing, and receipts for...

    getting married to a Canadian citizen z

    Yes, as long as you are single and have not lived with with him for more that 12-months (as that would form a conjugal/common-law relationship) then you are single and should represent that on the form.
