Whether a family with children can enter Canada with expired PR Cards through US

I will add to the rental car, the one-way rental is not unusual at ALL. It will be more expensive because they have to cover costs in case they have to pay an employee to travel to bring the car back to the USA. They also only allow it on their smaller vehicles because are rented much more...

    Form-Specific Questions

The border doesn't like anyone to say they're living in Canada unless they have papers, even though it's perfectly legal to do so as a visitor. :P CIC and CBSA are two different organizations, your application is going to CIC who couldn't care less where you are or what you brought with you, as...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

This. The only thing is, make sure you declare things you are required to, preferably before they ask, and ESPECIALLY if you have NEXUS. They are more likely to be flexible if you are forthcoming about things they usually have to pry out of people.

    US outland applicants' thread :)

My immigration officer was picky about me using the B-4 form when I landed, but really, he was picky about everything :/ but what was on it didn't really matter, they are really after the value of the items, so make sure anything of high value is listed specifically. Everything else can be...

Guys please help! I haven't received CSQ yet

If you use a courier service like DHL, use the street address. If you use Singapore Post, use the mailing address.

"In Process" - does it still mean something?

I thought for a bit that my case was a strange exception because my eCAS went "In Process" almost immediately after Ottawa received it, and then they requested my CSQ, so it sat for 3 months while we waited for Quebec to get their act together. Now it seems like I'm not alone. :P

    MARCH 2015 OUTLAND APPLICATIONS

Picked up my COPR at my PO Box in NY today. I didn't think it would be here already, so I didn't bring my passport or CSQ with me, so I couldn't land on my way back up. Debating whether to drive back down and do it now or wait until early tomorrow morning. :P

How best to oranize relationship proofs

I got all my photos printed at Costco as 4x6s and just included like 200 of them. Some people just arrange 4-6 photos at a time on a normal sheet of paper with Word, like you mentioned. Commentary is helpful, but keep it brief. Folders, tabs, etc aren't helpful, but some people swear by them...

Guys please help! I haven't received CSQ yet

They usually send a copy to you (the sponsored person) and to the Visa Office. I would also send a copy to your Visa Office yourself, because mine got lost by CIC and they ended up rejecting my application (they reopened it and now it's approved, but still.) Which mailing address did you...

"In Process" - does it still mean something?

I would be worried if you never got a response, especially if it's been more than 20 working days. Call the call centre and make sure they received the information. My app got refused because they lost an emailed document of mine. Reopening it was easy enough, but hella frustrating.

No, it won't raise suspicion. You're in the country legally. And yes, this is where they will send your COPR once it's approved. It does take a good bit of time sometimes for it to update in eCAS.

    Canada Criminal Record Check

I lived in Canada on a visitor visa for almost 2 years a few years ago. I didn't include a records check with the RCMP with my sponsorship application. They didn't ask for one, and my GCMS notes show that they did it for me. I just checked the application package instructions for inland...

Will ohip hamper my chances of sponsoring my spouse?

I have seen notarized letters from family stating they will support you until your husband can find a job work on more that one thread in this forum. If CIC is not satisfied, they won't reject you immediately, they will ask for further proof, and you can work on producing that.

    spousal sponsorship processing time

Mine was IP for the entire time we waited for my CSQ, for CIC to lose my CSQ, and for me to replace it, a total of about 3 months. Changed to DM yesterday, though. :)

    I NEED HELP!!!

The OWP program is a one-year pilot program. Details here. The two are tied together, you submit an application for Permanent Residency via Spouse Sponsorship in Canada and you include an Open Work Permit application in it. Once you have reached the sponsorship approval stage, CIC will issue you...

A PR is exempt from the Residency requirement if living abroad with their Canadian Citizen spouse. Dave, you should be able to send a withdrawal request. Check out this page, or call the Call Centre. They can't do it over the phone, but they can point you in the right direction.

    MARCH 2015 OUTLAND APPLICATIONS

Nope! Your panel doctor will send some IMM forms electronically when you do the medical, but you don't need to send any forms. Make sure you include the letter, though, so they can attach the items to your case.
