    US Citizen Immigrating to Quebec

Some DMs and PPRs in April that are from US (citizens and not) so it *really* depends. But it doesn't seem like that outland is going to be as fast as it once was.

Buying a car in BC as a newcomer

    1. Dealers normally will license and register a car. You need to deal with insurance, it's in your best interest 2. You need a Canadian license to register a car so you need to deal with that first. Anyone can buy a car, but to put a Canadian license on it you need a province license. To get a...

Moving money from US to Canada

Seems like having a bank account with us investments would be the same as holding them in my current us account, not sure what benefit would that be for tax purposes. I guess I need to figure out if I care about keeping my investments in usd or switch them to cad. I have Schwab bank in us which...

Has anyone moved with kids without the husband?

Both me and my wife have been asked for a written statement flying out of the US. Your marital status has no bearing on the situation. This is a big deal because there's no way to enforce the law in some countries if a parent abducts their child from the other parent.

    Is it really worth it?

If your bottom line is economic then places like Canada and Europe aren't appealing to you. It's all good in USA while the tide is in your favor. When it's not you have no society support. I am reading a person in a h1b/gc limbo with no end in sight supporting trump that couldn't care less...
