I don't think you'll have to do another one. Ours, for example, is only available for 3 months. I've been told it should be valid the moment the VO starts processing the eligibility for PR (and not even the background check).

Check your email this week-end for your SA (updates to ECAS and myCIC are scheduled for Sunday night, ET, while emails are scheduled to be sent on Saturday afternoon, ET also). Be sure to check your spam folder as well.

I asked CIC the same question. They said no. So double check the spam and the junk folders in your email client (yours both, the sponsor and the PA, as they send it sometimes by mistake to the PA). And if still unsuccessful, contact CIC. Good luck to you!

That's the only logical explanation. For example, I've noticed in the PDF file accompanying my SA (I'm the sponsor), CIC listed my wife's work address under my name! Go figure!

Most CIC's updates (to applications) in Ecas and myCIC are made the weekend, and especially when they announce a period of maintenace (Saturday or Sunday nights, ET).

This is weird. Why they do not call a cat a cat? Most of the time what CIC calls "system maintenance" is "updating of applications". It has nothing to do with maintenance!

Sorry I misunderstood your question. I thought you were talking about the initial email from CIC (AOR1). Like aylar10 said, you won't hear from CIC per se but from your visa office (VO). And it depends on the country you're in and the VO you're dealing with.
