I think many of the countries removed the criteria of having to be "a resident" at the time of applying. This is different than being a "citizen". In a number of countries (Latvia, Estonia, etc), this is still a requirement for some silly reason. Doesn't make sense since if you are in Canada...

This isn't so for me. My application was deemed received when I first sent it in. I was asked to submit the updated form, but my ECAS status still shows application received on the original date in August. Perhaps it is different for others...their process is not consistent.

Wow that is fast. Their normal processing times average 11 months for 80%! Hopefully everyone else has similar luck. What kind of questions have you been asking them...timing? Good luck!

If the letter you got requesting the new forms had a file number on it, then you are in process and not starting "new". If they gave you 45 days to send back the documents, then they are holding your place until they get the forms. Still may take a few days to put your stuff into the right...

You should call Canada Post with your tracking number, but they have a very bad system. Hard to imagine that in our times, but it seems true.

My updated forms were received on the 11th of September. I sent them out priority post in Canada on September 10th.

If you don't get a live person...invest the time to visit their office and talk to a human. Better than wasting time trying to call. Your waiting time is valuable too.

Ya, I don't think they are sitting on it for 45 days. Got my SA 26 days after they got my new form. So very unpredictable...depends on the officer.

Sent my new form back the same minute I received the request. I had it prepared in advance. Sept 10/14 seafay, you are on the August spreadsheet now...hopefully you can see it and update any missing info...

I wouldn't worry about not receiving any word...neither did I nor many others until they finally got notice that they have SA. You are a bit early if your app was received Aug 25. There was only one other member who applied after you and got SA...and there is no way to know why. I would guess...
