IRCC does have a pilot project in Vancouver to resume in-person retests (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/notices/gradual-resumption-in-person-services-sep-2020.html). Do you know if this is your friend's first test or a retest? :)

That's what I think too. Next time when we call them we should clearly tell them we are looking for the AOR, not the "In Process" status - don't let them fool you! :D

They restarted January applications since this Monday, that's a good signal! :)

Not every field in that form is required, so you can leave the date blank. You can even submit feedback anonymously. I also mentioned that people in February received AOR (now March and May), and I asked them to issue AOR on a FCFS basis.

Nice! It seems they either picked up the "missing" applications from the trash or the officer on vacation is finally back to work! :D

We should now save any evidences that can prove our applications were received by them in January (such as the tracking record and signature), just in case they cannot find our applications eventually. Then probably these evidences can help our applications to be processed faster, if we have to...

Exactly, considering the processing time is much longer now. Suppose I learnt that my application were lost and I resubmit it immediately, I would probably have to wait for another half a year before they even open my envelope... This is too crazy and I don't want to think about this scenario LOL

Historically they did go back and forth, but within a small time range. This is because they assign applications to officers by batches. However the current timing difference is way beyond the historical records - that's why I feel it's time to sound the alarm for them, considering that they had...
