It takes on an average 30 to 50 days for AOR after your application is received. This is the first correspondence that you will hear from CIC. Be patient, its a long journey ahead.

I know our patience is being tested but hang in there my friend Westzhu, we will get to our destination soon. On a personal note whenever I feel like complaining about this delay I look at pre july 2012 Ottawa applicants and then feel lucky/glad to be in a position to expect our PPR's.

Went through the same confusion. Make sure you include the receipt + handwritten copy, more is better here. Keep a copy with you for future reference.
