We had ours done at the local university. They should be perito translators at the universities. You can ask them to be sure. It cost us $300 pesos and was done in 2 days. Then send it by courier to VO Mexico City.

So you have sent your PGR results to CIC? Have you heard back from them?

Good luck to you both. From what I have read/been told, once they ask for the PGR it means you're getting close. We are waiting to hear back from CIC also. We sent our PGR and 1 updated form to them 2 weeks ago. Yesterday we got an e-mail from them confirming that they received the PGR and form...

Some people have said no and some have said yes. My wife and I had her PGR translated to avoid any problems. If you get it translated and they use it then great. And if they don't use it then you wasted a bit of money but imagine not getting it translated and having them return it or say that...

That is correct. I am a Canadian-born citizen living in Mexico with my Mexican wife who I am sponsoring Outland for PR. You just have to show and satisfy the VO that you will be returning to Canada if the visa is approved.

That's what we're going to do also. If CIC doesn't need it or doesn't use it fine but it's better to cover all bases so they can't find any reason to delay or deny the application.

2 questions OhCanadiana. Did you apply outland through Mexico City and will we get called for an interview still even though they are asking for our pgr or does this mean we have passed that stage?

As you haven't yet received a file number or UCI number, CIC will have no way to match your application with the new material you want to send them. Wait for them to respond first and see what they say or if they ask for additional proof.

I'm asking because we are getting our pgr certificate in a day or 2 and the letter I received from CIC stated that all documents not in English or French MUST be translated. Thanks for the info

Are you sure about that? It says clearly that all documents not in either English or French need to be translated.

Next step after Mexican PGR check

I think one reason is that we live together here in Mexico and have for 5 years. So it's not as though it's a long distance relationship that has only been for a short time. I imagine it makes it more cut and dry.
