FEBRUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

How long after did they confirm it? I got the automated message that confirms they received the e-mail (they asked me to scan and reply directly to the e-mail). But I just want to make sure whoever is processing my application is actually able to find it. I can imagine they receive a lot, even...

Screenshots of Facetime calls are valid?

We used screenshots of our WhatsApp and Skype calls, as well as our Facebook conversations. Should be fine.

FEBRUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I hope so. We've even been told to avoid crossing the border together, not sure how accurate that is either but so far we've just went with it. On another point, if anyone is interested, ECAS updated for me today with a fourth line reflecting the request for documents a few days ago. Should...

FEBRUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Hey guys, I'm planning to visit my husband for about 4 months this summer, do you think they'll give me any problems at the border if I just outright say how long I plan on staying? Since we're going through the PR process, would they take it easier on us? (especially considering we could...

FEBRUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

They just needed a scan of it because I didn't send one in with my app, what I provided as a travel document wasn't enough I guess. Hopefully though in a couple or few weeks we'll hear the same good news!! Our case is relatively simple and straightforward as well, though that doesn't keep me...

Crossing the border to stay for 6 months?

I was wondering something similar. Though we're going through the PR process currently and we're married, so the situation itself is a bit different. But I'm planning on spending the summer with him (so about 4 months) and was wondering if it'd be wise to tell them I'm staying that long...

FEBRUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

When do you guys think would be an appropriate time to request notes? Since they've requested documents from many of us it's apparent they're working on them. Wait a few more weeks?

FEBRUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

No change so far, not with my husband's log-in or mine. Does anyone know if they usually request RPRF when they request documents? Or does that come later?

FEBRUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Hey guys, Received an e-mail from the Ottawa office today requesting a scan of my passport (I didn't have one until just recently, Michigan has a special driver's license that allows entry into Canada without a passport, so I hadn't bothered). I assume this is good news for Ottawa applicants...

NOVEMBER 2015 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Hi guys, I'm a February 2016 applicant. I was notified that Ottawa started processing my application on April 8th, and so far no other correspondence. Regarding the RPRF, can we pay that before it is requested by the VO? And how would we go about doing so? Or is it better to wait?

    urgent help required

I wouldn't say the timeline of the marriage was much of an issue, I'm assuming OP is Muslim based on the reference to the wedding, nikah. It's more "culturally" (or should I say religiously) common for Muslims to meet and marry in the same year, especially if they were introduced by family. CIC...

    CPP-Ottawa

For things an original document was not requested (police certificate I think was the only thing that had to be original), we scanned it and had it certified by Service Canada (you need to bring the original with you, regardless of where you do it), but it can also be done by a notary or anyone...

Does anyone know when we can expect the request for payment after AOR2?

FEBRUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Is it possible they didn't update their timeline? I know that happened with a few of the December applicants who received DM

FEBRUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

If you check out the November 2015 sheet for Ottawa, all but maybe a couple have received DM and a couple have already landed. And this is back when it was taking about 68 days to receive SA. That gives me a lot more hope than the overall 2015 time sheet. I don't think it's a coincidence that...

FEBRUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I think once a little time passes and we're not thinking about it as much it should feel like no time at all! At least I hope so

FEBRUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I was curious as well so I did do the math. Average from SA to DM in 2015 for Ottawa was about 172 days. But it has gotten faster since last year. I really would be surprised if it took that long.

Congratulations! :) And calculating such an average sounds like too much math (albeit easy math, but I am lazy).
