***JULY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS***

The only reason we ordered notes is because we weren't sure if our evidence of returning to Canada was sufficient so we thought the notes would help us prepare documents in case they are thinking of requesting more evidence; but yes other than that I'm not very worried in all honesty I did not...

***JULY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS***

No mine still says "Not Started". From what I've read online the background check does not go into In Process until they've approved your PPR and happens usually a week to a few days before they send you the visa (in rare cases it may be a bit longer)

***JULY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS***

You're not the only one! I've been waiting since August 22nd as well with no updates. Even though I'm an August applicant my SA was approved very fast and the PR was processing in Ottawa as of August 22nd. We submitted an ATIP request a month ago as we were curious to read the notes and got an...

I'm sure you already know this but you can easily go to File -> See Revision history to restore any version of the document after any changes have been made to undo anyone's malicious efforts! :) It takes no longer than 5 seconds to restore an older version of the document before people messed...

Google automatically saves past revisions of each change made on the spreadsheet so it is always restorable no matter what. So the spreadsheet can never be lost technically :)

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Thanks! Well to be honest they do say up to 15 months current processing time...so I'm not exactly getting super impatient yet. That being said that 15 months includes time spent for SA and time for sending in documents, etc. I know people do usually hear back much much quicker though....Anyways...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Our application on the Permanent Residence side has been "In Process" since August 22nd. We never received an AOR2 and don't expect to receive one (we did receive a Sponsor Approved letter via email but no AOR2 for our application being received by the visa office in Ottawa). The AOR2 is not...

No mistake! I've heard of cases where people were approved in just a few weeks so this is normal if you're lucky and your paperwork was in line. Congrats!

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

This is good news. From rumors I've heard when "A background check is needed: In progress" appears you are likely going to get an approval soon for the PR...don't get too excited its just a rumor but they usually don't start the background check until they've approved everything from what I...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I was reading on another thread that when your file is transferred it will say "Background check is not needed at this time" but once they begin working on your file it will say "Not Started" and when they are about to approve you for the visa it will switch to "In process". Does anyone here who...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Yes you as well! Hopefully we hear back soon, I'm quite optimistic as I'm seeing some people in other threads hear back in 4-8 weeks with approvals so maybe we get lucky...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I think they just don't want to spend the money to run the background check if they don't deem you eligible (meaning they want to make sure they will approve you before they pay the money to run it). The FBI clearance gives them the US side but they want to run their own interpol and other...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Does anyone here under "A background check is needed" show "In Progress"? Mine has been "Not Started" even though Review of eligibility has been showing "Review in Progress" for more than a month now. I'm reading they usually start both at the same time which is why I am a bit concerned/worried.

Your total fees should come to $1040 CAD so the $300 refund is because you overpaid for some reason...I don't think you pay extra for dependents?

I see many people saying CIC vs ECAS...what's the difference? I always go to http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/status.asp to check my status...is there another location?
