I was reading on another thread that when your file is transferred it will say "Background check is not needed at this time" but once they begin working on your file it will say "Not Started" and when they are about to approve you for the visa it will switch to "In process". Does anyone here who already has SA have "not needed at this time" for Background check? I want to see if this is true.

Mine changed to Not started a day before I got my SA which it didn't make sense because I thought it was the Visa office who will change that. But when I had my SA, it was already changed from "Background check is not needed at this time" to "Not Started"

Good point.....I just check my cic and on Background check it shows " Not Started " Not sure when i changed from " Noy needed at this time "

Hey guys last night I received the AOR2 through email I believe for my wife with her own UCI now.

The email was acknowledging that they have received the application and now the application is changed to "In Process"

Still could not link her application in MyCIC. i try everyday to link but no luck.

Any suggestions??

I learned to read my AOR VERY carefully. SOmewhere in the doc it will indicate the information you need to link. For me, I used Application number, surname, place of birth, and 2, for # of ppl included in application. Give that a try!

Finally I was able to check my ECAS side (sponsor) today and it says they started processing my app on September 20th, I got AOR1 a day after now that I remember, but since then I never heard anything an called them two days ago and they said I'll probably get correspondence soon, a day later they send me an email saying there's an update on my status, it was just the eligibility changed to "review in progress" on MyCiC. Does that mean I probably get SA soon? :'(

yes, you will get sponsorship approval email by tomorrow most probably.

We received xxxxxxxx application for permanent residence on August 22, 2016.

After that no updates in ECAS...! And Still no luck in MyCIC.

Yes received AOR2, but haven't seen any new updates after that on Sponsored Spouse, but its the same status which i saw before getting SA.
No Medical received status yet...!

No emai, no update, no AOR2
I checked mycic again after reading above messages. It shows:

Application status: Open
Review of eligibility: review in progress
Review of Medical results: passed
Review of submitted documents: Blank
Scheduling of interview: not needed at this time
A background check is needed: In progress
Final decision: Not started


Is the above normal?? I never paid attention to what the above had before.

The ecas shows "application received" as status on applicant side. Nothing showing as (in process) :-X

I am a PR and my GF's(who is in india) vistor visa (TRV) is being processed by my sister(citizen).
we are getting married after 6 months in India.

If her visitor visa got rejected, will it be a bad impact on her spousal sponsorship after our marriage.
Please advise.
