To those who drove in from the US into Canada with CoPR (e.g. reneaa)...I'm curious, when you did US immigration, did you just say reason for entry was to drive to Canada? Or did you say vacation or something?

I landed on June 13, so it has been 68 days now. Now, the PR card processing time for new PRs is 80 days on the CIC website. Does this mean that I still have to wait until 6/13 + 80 days (Sep 2 or 3)?? Because when I landed, I remember that it was 67 days to process a new PR card on that date.

Yes - as long as you provide sufficient evidence (scans etc) via email. I was given a 30 day extension myself.

This is very urgent. I need to go to the US on a work trip, and still do not have my PR card. I only have my CoPR now. Can I rent a car, and re-enter Canada with only the CoPR? Has anyone done this before? Please reply soon, thanks a lot.

Don't fully understand your second time. Are you from a visa-waiver country? Did you attempt to fly into Canada with just the COPR and passport?

Why does it take so long to process???

Has anyone here who just landed applied, or planning to apply, for NEXUS card? Eligibility requirements are 3 years, but it doesn't state if it's 3 years after PR, or 3 years in Canada total (including time spent in Canada before PR status)...anyone can help???
