Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

To those who drove in from the US into Canada with CoPR (e.g. reneaa)...I'm curious, when you did US immigration, did you just say reason for entry was to drive to Canada? Or did you say vacation or something?

Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

Me, too, but I'm at that stage now. I called again today, and surprisingly, the agent looked into my profile this time...but no update or info on whether the card has been mailed or even printed. 99.99999999% chance I'll have to rebook return leg, but I'm going to be optimistic and wait a few...

Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

The processing time for new PR cards is now 77 calendar days: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-card.asp. This is longer than the 79 days since I landed. When I called CIC, the response I got from the agent was my card has not been mailed out, and that 4 additional weeks need...

Sorry to hear this...we are in the same boat. It's just been a very frustrating experience throughout. Can I ask...how was the process to cross the border via land with your CoPR, as you didn't have your PR card? I will be in this situation soon, and I am very worried about having to land in...

Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

Sigh...just wish we meet in better circumstances...I've no idea why on earth it takes these guys *this* long to print a goddamn card! Couldn't this have been done at point of landing? I think they secretly enjoy pushing us to our limits...just when you think the journey is over, you realize you...

Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

I landed on June 13, so it has been 68 days now. Now, the PR card processing time for new PRs is 80 days on the CIC website. Does this mean that I still have to wait until 6/13 + 80 days (Sep 2 or 3)?? Because when I landed, I remember that it was 67 days to process a new PR card on that date.

Can PPR deadline (30 days to submit passport) be extended?

Yes - as long as you provide sufficient evidence (scans etc) via email. I was given a 30 day extension myself.

Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

Putting this up here...I need to travel to the US on an urgent business trip soon that cannot be avoided. However, I still do not have my PR card, only have CoPR (I'm not from a visa-waiver country). Has anyone rented a car at Buffalo airport and driven back to Toronto through the Niagara...

Has anyone rented a car to re-enter Canada only with COPR, and without PR card?

This is very urgent. I need to go to the US on a work trip, and still do not have my PR card. I only have my CoPR now. Can I rent a car, and re-enter Canada with only the CoPR? Has anyone done this before? Please reply soon, thanks a lot.

Don't fully understand your second time. Are you from a visa-waiver country? Did you attempt to fly into Canada with just the COPR and passport?

Can I apply for Nexus card after landing (have been in Canada for 3+ years now)?

I just became a PR...and want to know if I can also apply for Nexus card. I have been in Canada for over 3 years...and looks like there is a 3-year residency requirement. Nexus eligibility: http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/prog/nexus/elig-admis-eng.html Now is the 3-year requirement ONLY after you...
