I think they work in batches. So it will increase by 5 days everytime, until they mail out the next batch. Then it will reduce to ~40 days or something again.

I was really paranoid about any email from CIC getting into my spam folder, and one day luckily caught a CIC email that had somehow slipped through to my spam! So I would recommend everyone to be very cautious when it comes to checking your spam folder regularly.

I don't think so...but I had one. But I flagpoled, so I got a "refusal" letter from the US side. Apparently, that's a normal thing to get and won't affect future travel to the US...let's see.
