Has anyone rented a car to re-enter Canada only with COPR, and without PR card?

This is very urgent. I need to go to the US on a work trip, and still do not have my PR card. I only have my CoPR now.

Can I rent a car, and re-enter Canada with only the CoPR? Has anyone done this before? Please reply soon, thanks a lot.

Are you from a visa waiver country? If so, you don't need to wait for your PR card and can go and re-enter even through an airport

If you go with your car(it doesn't matter its yours or rental) you are OK. They say you cannot go with common carrier because Bus/Train/Air company has to check your visa/Pr car before let you get on board.
