you are right... i checked the web site - using the new electronic form is recommended but not mandatory: As of July 18, 2011, applicants for Permanent Residence are asked to complete the new Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008). Applicants are encouraged to complete the form...

IMM0008 should be computerised - it is not ok to submit handwritten IMM0008. You need to fill it on a computer, press verify button and get a barcode. i believe that other forms can be handwritten.

all 2007-08 sponsors that has not been approved yet got the same letter because the process has changed - it is not related to your son's income... some of us already received the approval after submitting the requested documents... after approval some cases were forwarded to a local office and...

i agree that the name of the section is confusing - it sounds like they are asking for the documents to proof the relationship, but the documents in the list are birth/marriage certificates and national IDs for parents... i was also not sure about this section - so i sent birth certificates of...

no - sorry for confusion... the approval letter was from CPC-M, they completed their part and transferred my parents file and did not request any additional documents... i expect to receive the request for police clearance certificate from CPP-O but havent received anything from them yet... not...

my understanding is that CPC-M does not ask for police certificate... in the letter (the one they sent everybody in November) they advised to start applying for it... but did not ask to send to them... my understanding is that it's either CPP-O or local office that asks for police...

cic will ask for police clearence certificate from your parents once you are approved as a sponsor... the certificate is valid for only some period of time so there is no sense to do it too early... are you going to send additional documents to cic even if you did not receive a request from them?

thank you... not sure if Ottawa is good or bad... i wrote my canadian address as a mailing address in my parents application (not the address in their home country) - hope communication with Ottawa will be better than with the local embassy...

based on the oficial info from CIC bulletin only a portion of the applications - not all of them - will be forwarded to Ottawa... so some applications will go directly to the local office and some will go to Ottawa and can be forwarded to a local office if local knowledge is required...
