CPP is a new pilot case processing center... no idea why some applications go to Ottawa and some to local office...

just got a letter from CIC it says i'm approved as a sponsor and my case was forwarded to CPP in Ottawa the letter was send on January 31 - in the on-line status it said January 18

the poll is from October 2011...

i think there is no info about how long the process will take in local embassy under the new rules yet... but i know a person whose parents sponsorship application was approved in October 2011 and they got medical forms from the local embassy in December 2011... of course it depends on the local...

yes - that's what i thought... i was just thinking that some applications might go to Ottawa - it would be nice to know if your application is in the local office or Ottawa...

so i am not the only one with "letter has been sent on Jan 18" and no letter? I blamed canada post for losing it... but if i'm not the only one - it might mean that CIC did not really send the letters... may be updated the status and even printed them but did not actually send...

i did... and was told that i have to wait for 3 weeks before contacting them regarding the letter that i did not receive... they think the letter can be delayed for 3 weeks...

my assumption was that it is a letter to the sponsor so it goes to canadian address... but i don't know because i haven't received the letter :)

sorry, i have no idea what's the difference between member and full member and the number of stars... it might be explaied in the forum rules somewhere... and don't know about the chat option...

hi mash_afg it looks like the sponsorship process has changed and cic will be asking all sponsors for additional info (IMM 0008, etc)... so they will most likely request the same info from sponsors from 2009, 2010 and part of 2011 later on... here is the link to the oficial info regarding...

it looks like cic requested additional info (IMM 0008) from 2007-08 sponsors... i saw a couple of posts from people from early 2009 (january) that they also received the request - but it looks like sponsors from april 2009 havent received requests for additional info yet... so if you are worried...

FOSS is for In Canada office... it's the same form as for CAIPS - just need to put a flag that you are requestig FOSS...

My status says the decision was made and a letter was sent to me on January 18... Haven't received anything yet... it takes too long for the letter to come considering that i'm in the same province as Mississauga... called cic today - was told that i'm approved as a sponsor but they think it...

i havent' received the letter from cic yet - so not sure if i filled in the forms correctly... my assumption was that applicant means principal applicant... so it is only one person for application package, not both parents... in my case - my mother... so in IMM 5604 for my mother we wrote...

Hi tricky, i left the Applicant Name field blank in the IMM 5406 form for my father who is the spouse of the principal applicant (principal applicant is my mother)

I sent documents on December 8 - they were received on December 9

Thank you Supervisa - i checked my status - it also has changed to "We sent you a letter on January 18, 2012 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us" Hope it means that i'm approved... have ot received the letter yet...

SuperVisa, Can you please tell what is your on-line application status? Has it changed? Did you receive a letter by post or an e-mail? Once again - congratulations, it's a big step forward...
