Ray of Hope - *48th Draw*

It's not after a year though. We have much more recent data that shows that actually the number of candidates in the pool have actually gone down. At the end of 2015, there were 60,042 candidates in the pool. The most recent data we have is from May 2016, showing approximately 57,500 candidates...

    Anyone who thinks that there are 10,000 students over 450 needs to have their head checked. Look at the statistics from 2015 year-end report: 400 - 449 13,537 440 - 449 2,486 430 - 439 2,842 420 - 429 2,185 410 - 419 2,899 400 - 409 3,125 A resonable average for a well qualified graduate...

    Express Entry for International Graduates

There is already an extensive discussion of whether the CRS score is likely to come down or not in this thread: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/new-express-entry-ranking-system-will-be-applied-on-nov-19th-detail-inside-t460697.0.html Draws are usually held on...

There are probably other factors at play which would be the logic behind why they didn't extend LMIA to further occupations (such as all NOC A). I'd imagine that a lot of applicants work in a NOC A profession and could get an LMIA if they tried, which would disadvantage international students as...

No, but part of the Liberal government's platform is about reuniting families and that would help. Perhaps siblings should come under a different steam as it's not directly economic migration, but I can understand why the government would want to ensure that they go through the same process as...

Don't trust that calculator, its an unofficial beta version. Wait for the official CRS tool to be updated.

Is WES ECA valid for Australia immigration too?

I expect it will. WES have a free tool that will give you an idea: http://www.wes.org/ca/evaluations/preliminary.asp Look on Google for CRS tool. Work out your CRS score based on the level of English you think you can achieve with education level you get from WES free tool. If you get 450+...

Humber project management/1 yr pg certificate courses qualify for extra points?

Rather than give you a direct answer, these are the relevant regulations: If it meets the above rules, you should get the bonus points. If not, you won't. Either way I wouldn't worry, I expect in the next couple of months that you'll get an ITA with or without the extra 15 points.

I agree. You're almost certainly right that there are thousands of international students waiting. My guess is that their average CRS score would more likely be around 420-430 (bachelors degree, 1 year experience, in 20s and CLB 9 gets you 432 currently, 462 on new system) - more people will...

Will new Express Entry impact my ITA?

You're fine. You need to accept the ITA. If you don't do so or fail to complete all of your application before the 60 day deadline you'll need to go back into the pool and will lose those LMIA points (probably looking at a 550 CRS point loss unless your NOC is in Major Group 00)

Ray of Hope - 47th Draw

My gut feeling is that it's inevitable that scores will increase slightly. The net benefit of removing perhaps 300 LMIA holders from the top end of the pool is likely going to be overwhelmed by a much larger number of international students whose score was around 450-460. Of course, there is...

New Express Entry ranking system will be applied on Nov 19th (detail inside!)

Yes that is true. My point is that people won't be able to just graduate university and apply straight away. They'll need to either go back to home country and work for a year or apply for work permit to get years experience. Many people who struggled before to get an ITA due to high CRS scores...

Facepalm. Did you even read the link? I'll spell it out for you: The key word is REPLACED. They are replacing the provision in the current ministerial instructions with the above text. Nowhere in the new ministerial instructions does it say about 600 points for anything except provincial...

New Express Entry ranking system will be applied on Nov 19th (detail inside!)

The question is, does the "typical international student" have top CLB scores and one year experience? For CEC you can't use experience gained whilst on a study permit and many students that would like to immigrate I bet don't have that year. As well as that, even for a native speaker getting...

Yes, I also call bullshit on this. The new ministerial instructions are very clear. S.29 of the instructions regarding the management of EE (which states that a qualifying job offer gets 600pts) is being replaced in its entirety by a different clause saying 200pts for 00 major group NOC...

Yes! But wait for a couple of months I think. It will all depend on how many other students have higher scores and the number of ITAs that CIC issue.

Just seen the updates to crs score calculations, has been an interesting read. Really pleased to see that they have limited the maximum LMIA bonus points to only the cream of the crop. I've argued several times before that 200 crs points for all LMIAs would be pointless and would have limited...

It's great to see the positive trend in ITAs and CRS score :) Mt partner and I will be on 472 when we put our application in, but at the moment we don't have enough funds so would have to reject ITA. Frustrating, but the trend is definitely good for the future! Seems that the guy in the CIC...
