As per CIC officials, from Sept/Oct they will invite 2000+ ITA

It seems that the actual figures - in a slightly roundabout way - do back up my original estimates. According to CIC, in 2015 from EE applicants they "received 21,562 applications from candidates who were invited to apply for permanent residence during the invitation rounds, which represent...

As per CIC officials, from Sept/Oct they will invite 2000+ ITA

You make an excellent point. That would make my calculations very much a "best case scenario"! Something I don't understand in that case is this: According to the CIC webpage (article title: Notice – Supplementary Information to the 2015 Immigration Levels Plan), it says that the high target...

As per CIC officials, from Sept/Oct they will invite 2000+ ITA

From a purely logical standpoint, if what the official in this video is saying is correct (i.e. after the end of 2016 the only way to immigrate using an economic pathway is through EE) then there is no way that the required CRS score cannot come down, although based on my calculations I cannot...

    Two Diploma

I don't personally see the harm in selecting the higher qualification. Although CIC may potentially look at the ECA and decide that it isn't two certificates for immigration purposes, it hardly counts as misrepresentation if you have an ECA which lists two or more certificates, one of which is...

    Two Diploma

I'm in a similar situation to a poster on BritishExpats from earlier this year who had a similar query, so I've got a keen interest in this too. In the thread on BE the OP states that his bachelors and pre-university education (AVCE in ICT and HND) was assessed by WES as 2 certificates. Linky...

That's some really great advice - has confirmed what I was hoping to hear really. Will get my partner to get his CV out there and hopefully everything will fall into place over the next year or so :)

PhD holders, postdocs, research assistants, let's network and help each other!

We're from the UK and will shortly be applying under the FSW scheme. My partner is finishing his PhD which is in social psychology. Alongside that he's a teaching assistant so we'll be applying using NOC 4012 Post-secondary teaching and research assistants. No job offers/provincial nomination...

Why are you moving to Canada?

We have friends in Canada but no family ties. It's a bit of a trip into the unknown for us. We're very excited! Still a little way away yet, we've not applied yet, but it'll be done soon and then we'll hope to get invitation to apply quickly :)

Why are you moving to Canada?

Compared to where my partner and I currently live, my impressions are that Canada: - is cheaper than where we currently live - offers more job opportunities which pay more than we both earn here - has a better overall quality of life - has houses that are bigger and nicer than where we...

FSW Program: Teaching Assistant whilst PhD/MPhil student?

Hi all, First post on here, so please be gentle :) I realise that there have been several other threads which are generally around this topic but none of them seem to quite fit the bill for our specific circumstances, so I'm hoping that an expert on here will be able to assist with this query...
