DECEMBER 2013 OUTLAND APPLICANTS – Join Here!!!

I would advise you not to call as it is within the normal processing time. It would show "Application Received" until there's movement in the application or it could simply go straight to DM which I predict won't happen anytime soon (our best bet is sometime between June to August).

Having Baby with wife who is not a PR holder

The cost of a baby delivery in Canada especially if you're not insured can be very costly. That's why my wife and I decided to have the baby in the US since she has employment insurance and it would cost us $3000 max out of pocket for the delivery. There is also the option of medical assistance...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Congratulations. I am in a similar situation as my wife is 3 months pregnant and we applied in December. From what I gather, you notify your VO if there's a change in your personal life, i.e. if there is a birth or death in your family. It does not say anything about notifying them of pregnancy...

My wife took the pics in the US, Wallgreens I believe. If you ask them they will cut to the dimension required by CIC. Hope this helps.

Just state the facts and feelings where it is necessary. I wrote two pages for some questions and one to two paragraphs for others. Hope this helps.

US Citizen pregnant with Canadian husband's child?

Wouldn't coming back to Canada with the mother and the baby's birthday certificate be easier as opposed to waiting until the baby gets added to the COPR? Thanks.

Pregnant Spouse!! of a Canadian Citizen

My wife is 10 weeks pregnant and is expected to be due in September 2014. Once we submit the additional family forms IMM5406 and IMM 5481, do you know how long the expected waiting period would be assuming she gives birth in September and receives COPR the same month?

Thank you both. We decided she will have the baby in the US since it is less complicated there. Having the baby in Canada is not an option as it can cost well over $10K. Even if she gets the COPR by June, we will need to wait 3 months for OHIP to kick in. I will take Parental Leave of 4 months...
