I was thinking the same thing. Mine was 5 days after receiving SA from CP-M to Ottawa Visa Office. Unless they sent the application express delivery which then could be possible.

Just out of curiosity, did they extend your COPR to October 2014? or did they extend your medicals? I ask this because I may be running to a similar situation in the future. Congrats on gettting the COPR.

Wouldn't it be faster to get the newborn a passport and travel to Canada with the mom once she gets her PR? Upon arrival, you can file the necessary paper work showing the baby is yours.

Well said Avadava. We all knew going in that this was going to be a long journey. Putting the application together was a stressful process for many of us and one that we do not wish to repeat. As far as I can tell, our job is done and we should relax and let CIC do their job.

I'm a December 2013 applicant and my Visa Office is Ottawa. I guess I shouldn't expect anything from them for the next 7 to 8 months. Yikes!

Welcome to the group, you've been added to the sheet. File transfer means you've been approved to sponsor (SA) and that the application has been transferred to the Visa Office handling part 2 of the application (in your case Ottawa).

No you don't have to wait before receiving SA to check status online. Just give it few days before logging online to check status.

I received the SA letter via snail mail 10 days after Decision Made was on ECAS. In terms of the kit, I believe that is issued to your spouse once he/she gets approved for PR (don't quote me as I could be wrong).
