    lol!! don´t feel confused we will figure it out!! The state police checks are from each state...the embassy used to ask for them but now they don´t need them anymore. Instead they want the SSP (secretaria de seguridad publica) from my understanding you can only get it from mexico city...but...

    You can get the PGR from the state office in Jalisco. Here is a list of the states that you can get it from: Aguascalientes, Baja California, Baja California Sur, Campeche, Chiapas, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Colima, Durango, Estado de México, Guanajuato, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Michoacán...

    what that seems odd! I just checked here: http://www.aircanada.com/en/travelinfo/airport/baggage/checked.html and it says one free bag and then 20$ for the extra.

    So it´s one bag free per person and then 25 for the first extra bag and 35 for the second extra? And yes it is just too much hassle to get the transit visa and all that. We prefer to just go right to canada and not have to deal with anymore visas :D

    aww that would be nice! But we will be flying from mexico city and west jet doesn´t go there. :( I think pretty much the only option is aircanada (because that´s the only one that doesn´t go through the states).

    Make sure you put the applicant´s email address too!! One time I put all my husband´s info but whenever I tried to send it with his email address I would get an error message. So I just out my email address with his info and they wouldn´t answer it because it wasn´t his email address!!

    I´m pretty sure you can take spanish courses with a tourist visa... There is a way to change your tourist visa to a student visa from within mexico...it takes about a month though...You would have to go to the Instituto Nacional de Migracion and ask them about what papers they need (I think...
