    While we´re on the topic of driver´s licences, I have a question...I was going to look into this but maybe somebody here knows. Last year my alberta driver´s licence was going to expire on my birthday in september. So I had to fax in some special paperwork in order to renew it from Mexico...

    Yes the applicant will get the AOR. And at the same time they will probably say they are sending the letter so you can get the PGR certificate. I´m not sure if the interview comes before or after the police certificate request...technically they can ask you for an interview at any time during...

    Did you have to pay anything to get the police check? Because the SSP is free. The PGR costs something like 135 pesos (I can´t remember the exact price).

    When my husband got his at the state office it was called an Informe (I think because it wasn´t from the PGR in Mexico City) and they did accept it.

    If you are in Mexico then no. You absolutely need the letter for the PGR. Not sure if they would give you the letter if you go there personally and ask for it...

    No it dosen´t. I mean sometimes the power goes out (like in any city) but it´s very rare and it could happen in summer or winter. Usually it lasts only a few minutes.
