You can enroll in any 2 year course with same study permit . After that you can apply for a study permit extension .Don't apply in the last days , give them proper time to process your application . Applying 3-4 months before date of expiry is advisable .

You are good to go with your ielts and course . For diploma courses in any college ( bands not less 5.5 and overall 6 are good to go ) . But , make sure you mention about your low academic scores in SOP . It's not mandiatory though still i advise you to do that.
