"Document proving you have legal status in Canada"

I would definitely consider applying outland, as others have already advised. Right now you are looking at about 2+ years for inland applicants, could be even longer with the current refugee situation. Keep in mind there is also no right to appeal the decision once it is made for inlands. Do you...

    CPP-Ottawa

Nothing was posted online that COPR was sent to us, but we were able to get an answer from a CS rep over the phone that it was. I would try again and be more persistent since they just use the cheapest regular mail option with no tracking to send it.

GCMS NOTES WELL EXPLAINED HAS NEVER BEFORE UNTIL NOW

Nice info, however from our experience REVIEW REQUIRED only seemed like a next step in the process. They also send out batch emails to those applications, something like -your application has now been placed in queue to be reviewed by the visa officer blah blah. I think every application gets...

    Trouble at the border

It's very weird that they would give him such a hard time then... My wife traveled back and forth (not during the application process though), but the more she did the easier it was and less questions they asked. When she got COPR, she left Canada, spent 2 hours in New York and came back the...

    Trouble at the border

By US applicant do you mean your husband is a US citizen? Does he have a US passport?

    Application returned - help!

CIC would not even tell me any updates regarding my wife's application over the phone when I called because we never filled out that use of representative form, so the reason why they have returned the application to you makes sense. In their mind important documents would be coming to a non...

When does "implied status" become active after sending out application?

Implied status is only achieved when you apply for an extension for your existing status. To have implied status is rare because it takes 2 months at most to process the extension and you must apply for it during that time period before yours expires. It has nothing to do with the application...

    "Decision Made"

Have you received any batch emails like asking to submit police checks if you haven't done so? They typically do that before any DM, then again it could depend on visa office. For us it took about 6 months after Sponsorship Approval before getting COPR(with extensive communication from CIC right...

    STOP MARRIAGE FRAUD..

Looks like the OP has experienced marriage fraud and there is no real way to stop it, just as trying to stop someone passing through a red light. Sad but true - not a very bright person would fall to a marriage fraud scam.

    Spousal Interview

If you don't mind be asking, how was the interview overall, were they polite? Do they put a lot of pressure? Ask a lot of questions?

    Spousal Interview

Typically they can ask if there is any suspicion that your relationship is not genuine, also it can be asked if there is any criminality. This mostly happens for sponsored spouses from non visa exempt countries.

What can happen when you break the rules

That was just asking for it.. really? Not even applying for PR, leaving and re-entering Canada, and probably did this many many times already, since being married for a decade. I am sure CIC had quite a few flags here. I think they took it easy on her, could have been a lifetime ban...

Outland application but living in Canada - residency issue

You have absolutely nothing to worry about, as long as your husband maintains his valid visitor status. Forget about the inland application, they take 3x as long and even CIC does not recommend it, also he won't be able to leave Canada while inland app is processed. Think of it this way - your...

Online status change from Decision Made to Completed

I am wondering if that should happen at all and when, my wife has landed on the November 11th but the online app status still shows as Decision Made. Any thoughts ;D? thanks!

    visa expired

Looks like they have updated their Document Checklist for inland apps (IMM5443E) now it says: I remember last year that line required proof of valid status in Canada, and it made no sense. I guess it is safe to assume you can be completely out of status when applying inland.

    visa expired

I also ran into this paragraph before and it made no sense to me, even if you apply inland (the long process) those forms ask you to provide valid status as well. Unless it is overlooked by CIC and *not really* required during inland process, but they will still formally ask for it.

    Joint account

We have did the same thing with RBC, created a joint account with my wife, but I don't think you can see it online. We went to the teller and they did a print out with bank signature regarding our joint account. I think this will be your best bet, get an official paper instead of an online print...
