    She can't do income tax if she has no Canadian income for 2009... If this is the case, as spousal applications are exempt from the income requirements, you can simply supply proof of savings accounts and a letter explaining the situation.

    Your son is a Canadian Citizen by decent. I'm not sure of the paperwork that goes into that... I took a quick scan on the CIC site, he would def qualify for citizenship under that category. I think you jsut have to get him a passport.

    Not sure about where you got the 10 years from... an option C printout is just info from your last years tax return. If you filed taxes last year you should have one and have to submit it. I completely misread that... you need to provide an explanation of why you do not have the option C...

    Not at all. It is proving that the relationship exsisted before the marriage that the CIC is interested in. We applied within a few weeks as well and got approved in the 30% timeline as well.

    We didn't wait at all. We applied right away. As long as yu can prove the relationship before the marriage there is nothing to worry about. Esentially, once you are married you want to be together right?, so applying quickly does not look bad at all. Maybe if you had only known eachother...

    Sorry Edwin, to say you are wrong. VANOC is handling a majority of the process, the CIC just stamps it. Most althletes do not even need a Visa, their Olympics ID card is their visa. There has been no slow down in application processes due to the Olympics.
