    Congrats buddy :) When did you pay and send RPRF receipt for CIC? I received RPRF request on the same day as yours. Paid the fees and sent the receipt to CIC 2 days later. Waiting for the next one now. I applied from outside CA.

    I would rather recommend to commence the process of passport re-issue and update CIC with the information once you have the new one in hand. Better to be proactive rather waiting for the worst-case scenario :)
