I disagree. We need to put pressure on CIC, it is unacceptable that these applications are taking 36+ months. We live in a developed country and I cannot comprehend that they still have not resolved these cases when new applications take 6-8 months to process. The problem is that we should have...
This is really sad. You have not even taken the test? Why dont you reach out to your MP to see if they can help. Also call CIC and ask them why your application is still pending. Have you ordered your ATIP recently?
Hi all,
I wanted to create a new thread for all 2011 and 2012 applicants that are still waiting on Oath. It would be good to have an idea how many people have passed the 36 months or are approaching it. We really need to be proactive about this otherwise CIC will completely ignore our...
Please provide timeline. There are hundreds if not thousands of people like myself that have been waiting for more than 40 months so we need to know exactly how long you have been waiting. Thanks
We have to distinguish new applications under the new rules from old applications under the old system. For applications that were sent in 2011, 2012 and even 2013 there is really no limit as they can take 40+ months. My application has been processing since October 2011 and I still don't have...
What is your timeline? has the 36 months passed? Maybe contact your local MP. I think we need to be very proactive here. New applications are barely taking 6-8 months while old applications can take 4 years, that is simply ridiculous and unacceptable.
Hello, I am in a similar situation and I also applied in October 2011 and last week I received CIT520 in the mail. They asked me to provide the following:
1. Passport photocopies
2. Leases
3. Tax Assessments
4. Health Claims records
5. A letter explaining my previous status in the U.S
I just...

We really to keep the pressure on CIC to clear these old files. I am hoping that my file will be reviewed very soon. Over the summer I was contemplating withdrawing my application and re-submit a new application, I guess I should have done that because I would have had my citizenship by now. Let...
This does not make any sense. Are you telling me that CIT 520 is treated the same way as the orginal RQ? They cannot do that as the CIT 520 is usually assigned to an officer in charge. In my case I received a letter from an officer requesting specific documents. I do not intend to be patient as...
Please provide your timeline.
How do you know that your file has been approved? if it has been approved it should not in St Clair. Did you receive an RQ?
They asked for the following:
1. A copy of my current and old passports (all pages and in color).
2. Paystubs and/or ROEs (Records of Employment).
3. Leases
4. CRA Tax Assessments
5. A Letter explaining my previous status in the U.S (I had a work VISA).
6. CBSA Report by signing a form that...

The 2 year period has not passed so CIC will most likely not give you more information unless you order the ATIP. For some of us it has been almost 40 months.... Contacting your MP does not help much either...I contacted my MPs office about 3 months ago and I was told that ordering the ATIP...
I am in the same situation but I applied in 2011. A few days ago I received a letter from CIC from an Officer requesting additional informaton (CIT0520), so I am hoping that that I will be scheduled for oath very soon.
I agree and it is a shame that CIC is just sitting on peoples applications. What is the point of holding onto these applications for years? they could have easily either accept and deny within a reasonable amount of time but they chose to bascically put them on shelves. This is truly ridiculous.
Here is my timeline
CIC Office: St clair
Application Date: October 2011
In Process Date: July 31, 2012
RQ Date if different: July 31, 2012
Test Date: March 12, 2014
RQ2 Date: January 11, 2015
