This is very interesting. I really hope that our files won't take that long to process. In my case it has been 40 months since I applied so I am hoping that the officer assigned to the case will realize that soon and schedule me for oath.

For most of us the application has been classified as non routine years ago when the RQ was issued so CIT0520 does not change that. Now that the file has been assigned to an officer hopefully that will speed it up.

Hi all, My wife as the Citizenship Test scheduled for Monday February 16 in Mississauga but I also know that is a holiday (Family day). Does anyone know if CIC will be open that day? I am just curious because I would think that would not have scheduled her knowing February 16 is a Holiday. Thanks

Your application has been processing for more than 36 months now, that is unacceptable. Keep calling CIC and ask them what the delay is about, they really need to make a decision on these cases ASAP, there is no reason for them to delay your application at this point.

That is complete BS. They always say this crap to give people a reason for the delay in processing RQs. It should not take them more than a day to review a complete RQ and yet they take years to review regardless if you request an ATIP or not. How in the world a simple request can slowdown an...

They asked for: Copies of my passports, Leases, Tax Assessments, Record of Employments, and a letter explaining my previous status in the U.S which was a work visa that expired years ago.

Still no updates. I have contacted my MP not sure how much they can help but any pressure that we can put on CIC to finalize these applications are welcome.
