Delayed Citizenship Application Processing - Lawyer Needed?

Our citizenship case has been under process for several years. Appeared in Test in Aug 2012, and submitted RQ later on. Since that time, we went outside the country as I got some opportunity to make good earnings abroad. Since then nothing much has moved on our case. Only we were asked for my wife's finger prints, which we submitted 7 months ago, and in ATIP file I found that my wife's test was also failed, so CIC advised for retest in Nov 2014. I am still waiting for any further progress, or to hear from CIC until now.

My question is that in such scenario, what should I do? Would it make sense to hire a lawyer to expedite my case, or it still won't have any affect?

Unfortunately, this is the "normal" timeframe for RQed applications with CIC. My application is from April 2012. I noticed that they are still processing 2011 applicants.

Please provide timeline. There are hundreds if not thousands of people like myself that have been waiting for more than 40 months so we need to know exactly how long you have been waiting. Thanks

My timelines are......... Submitted Citizenship Application (May 2011), Appeared in Citizenship Test (Aug 2012), Submitted RQ (Sept 2012).....Submitted Fingerprints (May 2014).......

It is unfortunate that there are such delays. Does anyone has suggestion on a reliable lawyer / law firm in Toronto, that may help us out of this situation. And any idea on how much it is going to cost?

Well failing the test causes further delay in your case, i don't understand how people can fail such an easy test. Also you better be prepared to prove that you intend to stay in Canada since you have been working outside for a the last few years. Good luck.
