Tv, Phone and Internet bundles in toront

$30 addition if you don't bundle. Not worth if for most of those who don't bundle, nor most of those who don't regularly download/consume large amounts of bandwidth.

permanent resident travel document? or surrender PR?

Damn, figured as much, but had to be sure just in case. :) Thanks scylla! And thanks Leon too since I know he'd answer soonish. ;)

permanent resident travel document? or surrender PR?

^ Dumb question Leon but does the logic/criteria in that quote you just did (i.e. PR accompanying Canadian citizen spouse) apply to permanent residents and their residency obligations toward citizenship? For me, that could potentially mean a difference of a few months as we've visited the US a...

Any Idea about NEXUS Card ?

The pet must have a NEXUS card too. I kid, you must be able to produce a valid rabies certificate for the pet in case they ask for one, even in the Nexus lane. Just remember, rules must still be followed all the same.

Given TD has many banks in the US, especially in the east US, I'd go into a branch and find out.

American Taxes Even While PR in Canada?

This is why our bank account had to be in my (Canadian) wife's name, and we waited until I had my SIN and PR card so I would not even need to provide a SSN, then added myself later. It's really sad when we have to go to such lengths to avoid the US government from sticking it's nose (and putting...

American Taxes Even While PR in Canada?

You would not be obligated to pay taxes henceforth if you renounce citizenship. Non-citizens cannot be forced to file FBARs. Nonetheless, making any reasonable amount of money makes you taxable. This is why I've heavily considered renouncing US citizenship upon receiving Canadian citizenship.

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Pitfalls to avoid -- whichever of you two is the American citizen, don't stop filing tax returns with the IRS. Even if you live abroad and work abroad you must file a return or they will come after you. The other alternative, which I'm considering upon getting Canadian citizenship to avoid...

Yep, part of the exchange rule is it being sent back to the state government. It was explained to me by the DMV in Sacramento, California (my native state) that they do this so if you change your mind and become a state resident again, you can do the same swap and get your full license back...

Is it mandatory to change Spouse Name/surname change after marriage?

Not at all. I landed October 20th 2011 after PR approval, and my wife only got her name changed here in Canada earlier this month (we're lazy and prioritised many other things first). No one cared nor asked any questions even when we went across the border countless times. I doubt anyone would...

    Canadian Drivers Licence

In Ontario they are a bit hard on renewals, but may be more forgiving to returning citizens. I'd call DriveTest or go in to one and ask them questions personally.

Sponsorship was approved, forwarded to VO to look at applicant(s). You should be able to check status online (eCas wasn't all that helpful when I used it) but the contact method provided in the application will be used to forward communication when required, for example, PPR was e-mailed.

    Preparing to cross the border

You're flying into Canada, then? You should always CYA (cover your ass) for the ties part in this situation, but that's easily taken care of with things like a rental agreement, job letter, etc.

    Evidence and Timing

Truthfully with this much evidence any interview requested would likely be based on other factors. The evidence you said you're using there is a lot more than what we submitted our app with.

    Preparing to cross the border

Is your return ticket dated at some well-in-advance time or are you just using that as preponderance against worst case scenario denial evidence at the border? Unless you do intend on returning it would be odd to have a return ticket, especially presented to CBSA, while at the same time saying...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Couple things: Did you forget when filling out the app where it asked which local office you wanted for an interview in case they request one? Unless you put Buffalo, if that's even a valid answer, it would be satellite offices like Los Angeles, Seattle, Detroit, etc. Secondly, just playing...
