I had my application returned to me due to a missing document. I did not do the N/A thing on the actual application and nothing was mentioned about it when it was returned. So I would say; not strict at all.

My received line disappeared anywhere in between Tuesday and today (I checked Monday and it was still there) What does this mean again? My file is in the local office?

Update from me After getting my application back due to a missing paper and resending it that same day (January 15) I can log into e-cas starting today (been trying daily) It says in progress; We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on January 21, 2014.

I never had any problems visiting Canada while our outland PR application was in process. I am from a visa exempt country in Europe, so fly in through Pearson every time. I also went to the States for shopping purposes while being in Canada as a visitor and again; never any problems getting back...
