what does it mean if A background check is needed Not needed at this time Does it mean that background check is not required or it has not yet started?

I know its been a while, but curious where did you end up moving to?

Each of my CSE was acknowledged within 1-3 days and each request has been entertained so far.Again, this may be just one example,not sure about others. Just checked my ECAS ,address change request has just been processed in around 4 or 5 business days,while it can take upto 2 weeks.

I can always be wrong but have not yet seen any disadvantage of doing upfront medicals. It actually worked for me and some of people i know personally. In my case medicals were processed very quickly by CIC/IRCC (within 10 days or less) after DMP sent the results ,and i got over this instead of...

from what i have seen foreign workers have really benefit from LMIA option as opposed to PGWP holders. With valid permanent full time job offer ,i think 600 points should be given. Also, there should be more points who stayed longer in Canada. It used to be very international student friendly...

there used to be FSW1(until 2009) category where any international student who has lived and studies for atleast 1 year could apply for PR. no such option anymore,infact its very lengthy procedure if you dont have enough points..

thank you kaosman its been 3 weeks already ,hopefully we'll receive by end of current week. We had an address change recently , and that may delay if they send docs on old address.(we called multiple time service ontario to make sure its sent on new address) ...lets see > regarding landing...

go for upfront medicals ,i did the same and its passed. Then you'll just wait for PPR/DM will save you atleast 4-6 weeks

have you booked an appointment with cic for landing? if yes,they can make all corrections etc CBSA officer could do the same but from many people's experience they'd tell you its okay. You can also send one form (search for it) and send to cic to update info. People with this experience on this...

assuming you have temporary status. 1. Extend your permit to a new farther date 2. take this immigration doc along with employment letter and show up at Service Ontario.

how much was the validity before ? i.e issue date and expiry date you can refer to ministry of health and long term care publication "longer absences from ontario"

Why your wife is not on OWP? if you are from NOC 0,A or B you could apply for her work permit. I did the same for my wife and its easier for us to renew all documents together.

did you check with service Ontario if your OHIP is valid?

Thank you Silvi for the details. That makes sense. I myself from IT/telecom field (Networking/service provider side). I assure you'll have floods of opportunities because of your java background as its in demand and not many java guys here and staffing agencies always look for one.

But then you'll have Manitoba drivers license. Here ,you'll be asked to show proof of ID everytime you visit govt offices (Service Canada,Service Ontario etc.) and many other places that i dont remember at this time. If you get caught in accident at fault you wont be covered by your insurance...
