Resident card renewal for my son whithout meeting residency obligation

First of all sorry to hear about your divorce and good luck! A PR status does not just expire! He seems to still be a PR like you've been told by CIC / IRCC. I understand that you want your son with you as much as possible. But the reality is that kids have to go to School to get some...

If my wife give birth to child aboard, am I still eligible for maternity and EI?

...found this in another thread, you might wanna have a look at it yourself: You can't receive CCTB (or any other benefit -- maternal leave is the only one) while resident in a foreign country -- and CRA itself will decide if you are resident there, or in Canada, using their own calculations...

Are the two of you coming back to Canada after she gave bith to your child? She is PR, are you PR too...

    Housing Loan

@steaky Good one. Even though you're right I can't stop thinking that way too many people "own" houses they simply can't afford (even the bank says they can). Lool

    New house

Hi Mateo, what sort of property are you talking about? Before owning I rented a few places and Landlords are most likley to ask for references & a credit check. I never agreed to a credit check for different reasons. But more and more Landlords do ask for that - too many people have too much...

If my wife give birth to child aboard, am I still eligible for maternity and EI?

I don't know to be honest but to me that would not make any sense to me. I mean come on why would you get maternity leave when the baby isn't even in the country? Why would you get EI when the baby isn't even here? You're not taking care of that baby so I would guess you're not getting either one.

    Opening Bank Account After Arrival

RBC does NOT always give a $2000 credit card! And to build up a good credit history you don't need a $2000 cc. Even if you only got a $1000 or $500 cc you'll get a good credit history IF you pay back on time! That's the point, paying your debt on time! My advise is go to any bank and talk to...

    livable income in BC province

BC is huge, you know that - right? Look at craigslist and compare (the cities) yourself! Liveable income depends on many aspects. Where do you live, how do live, ... How are we supposed to know about your life style? Renting in Van and the surburbs is expensive, the market is hot because of...

First time tax filer: 3 months and counting still no tax refund. Help

Why would you be worried? CRA got lots to do, it's not like they sit around doing nothing. First time does take longer, why is that a problem? Many people get their T4 in February and start filing their taxes pretty much at the same time, so March, April and May is one busy time for them. In...

    2016 PR CARD APPLICANTS TIMELINE

I believe I clipped the receipt on top of the application, so it would be the first thing they would see. Maybe you should give them a call before you start a new application. I would sent the package again but put the payment receipt on top and not in bewteen the papers. Good luck!

    CoPR now PR card wrong!

Hi jc94, not sure if that would work but if you live close to a CIC / IRCC office you could try to get an appointment and speak to an officer in person. That's what I prefer and what I would go for if possible. If you get an appointment take the CoPR and PR card as well as all the other...

Good for you... But, in fact you're either a visitor or a PR, you cannot be both at the same time - nothing's gonna change that. There was no canada post strike! Not even one day.... And since you feel like we shouldn't give wrong advise, maybe you shouldn't either. Some people are just...

simoncanada Lool Since when is it up to you to decide what a user has to say? Don't read it if you don't care / don't wanna hear it. I'm sick of people misusing the system, happens every day. Too bad that CIC / IRSS won't get rid of people misusing the PNP! Zhey should...and who lnows maybe...

My sister landed Toronto airport, CBSA officer says u must stay 2ys in SK

Hello :) I am not an expert but as usual I would like to point out again that there is a difference between becoming a PR or PNP PR. PNP's are special programs! Each Province got a certain contingent and need for immigrants. Everyone who takes part in these programs should know what this is...

Pls HELP! email related to urgent processing from IRCC what should I do?

Hello, yes I wish for you that IRCC does process your application within their usual timeline! I mean it. Though I would like to say that "...I want my application to be processed without delay. ..." is very unfriendly - in my view. People in Canada are pretty much offended for all kinds of...

    PNP settle on another province

Despite of all the questions I would like to say that the PNP is a (sort of) special provincial program! There is a reason for the PNP! So maybe people could start to think about that and the consequences if someone gets nominated from a certain Province and then just moves to another. And I...
