CoPR now PR card wrong!

So I got my CoPR back in March and it had the wrong eye colour and height, off by 6cm. The eye colour is more concerning as it is very clearly wrong.
I was told here that they could correct at PoE but check with CIC, CIC confirmed (actually took them months, they did it just after I landed). Except, when I landed they claimed they couldn't do it on the computer and instead wrote it on my CoPR - at least my copy.

So fast forward to ~65 days later when I get my PR card ... and it's still wrong.

So I have no way of telling what details they have. I could request a CoPR amendment that apparently takes 6 months, but it doesn't include eye colour/height as possible amendments, only things like name, sex etc...
My concern is that when I need to renew my card or apply for citizenship these differences are going to cause me issues.

Anyone experienced this or have any thoughts? Thanks!

Your situation is indeed frustrating and intriguing.

My thoughts: although those are non-critical particulars that would not be of concern according to CIC themselves, what I would if I were you: request amendment to the COPR (it will take around 5-6 months). If and only if that one is approved, then you can submit an IMM5530 to also get the PR CARD reissued according to the amended COPR. If they deny amendment, you will just use that letter if/when they will doubt your details later (e.g., citizenship, renewal etc.)

Hi jc94,

not sure if that would work but if you live close to a CIC / IRCC office you could try to get an appointment and speak to an officer in person. That's what I prefer and what I would go for if possible.
If you get an appointment take the CoPR and PR card as well as all the other documents with you, even new photos since they're pretty cheap.

Good luck!!

Thanks guys that is interesting. I live and work pretty close to downtown Toronto so there must be an office. I'm beginning to wish I'd done that for landing - I wonder if it's possible indeed, I will have a look around.

The amendment stuff would be irritating esp. as I can't seem to change it. I can 'risk' my PR card from my intl. travel Oct/Dec (assuming they don't fix it early October and I have to submit my PR card within 60 days) but I also have intl. trips in 2017 so being without my PR again for long periods of time is somewhat irritating.

good luck with that! let us know if/how it went with appointment; personally, I always wondered if they really are so strict about it...

Ah thanks. I poked around and submitted what looks like a CSE. Hmmm. It says we won't respond if it doesn't match one of their list so we'll see.
Hopefully they can give me an appointment there I think a human being will be able to help, the processes online aren't designed for this.

Trips are a mixture of personal, work, and family commitments. I have paid for tickets for October and December ones.
It was hard enough to find one 4 month slot to be honest. Bit of a first world problem I know.

I will provide updates!

It's IMM5444 (Application for renewal of a new PR card) that most concerns me, or there is almost certainly an equivalent for citizenship.
Requires colour of eyes and height. And my immigration office amended CoPR doesn't match my PR card :(

Well that was completely useless. I got virtually a templated reply telling me to fill out IMM1436 request to amend the record of landing/copr docs. This took over 8 working days, which beats the two months they spend telling me it could be corrected before.

Email also says it can only be corrected if the personal information in my passport is correct. Well I have no idea what it says in my passport; it doesn't seem to be written meaning it's on the biometric chip if anywhere.

Meh. What a pain. Next update ... February?

hey man whatever happened?

im kinda like in the same boat.

so i first noticed they dropped my middle name when i got my PR card and started applying for provincial licenses. so i submitted an application to ammend record of landing/copr. while going about my life i discovered the need to go home and finish my studies if i wanted to save at least 1-2 years worth of applications and examinations specific to my field, completely forgetting about the 60 day deadline if my application to ammend record of landing was approved and then to correct my PR card. so i flew home and in a few months of being out of canada, the approval letter of the record to ammend arrived.

so in the end i wasnt able to process the correction for PR card cause one of the requirements was physically being inside canada to process it. i obviously wasnt.

so ive been wondering lately will this matter? can i just submit a PR card name change when i get back (about 10 months overdue )? will i be able to enter canada using my "wrong" PR card?

Just closing a couple of old threads here. I ended up not doing anything given they don't seem to make it possible.
It hasn't been queried on my dozen or so entries since.
