How I organized our applcation and a summary of all helpful tips I have learned

I wasn't writing that to you. If you advise people to paper clip, that's great. But I'm still convinced stapling doesn't affect anything and there's no evidence to suggest it does. I stapled everything on two applications and got the COPR in 3 months and in 5 months. If they cared so much...

How I organized our applcation and a summary of all helpful tips I have learned

It is not pissing CIC off. They aren't going to deny an application simply because they are so mad about staples. That is silly. There has not been ONE report about problems with staples. What is the point of stressing out people who have mailed it in and are waiting? If staples were a problem...

How I organized our applcation and a summary of all helpful tips I have learned

Nowhere in the family class instructions or checklists does it say no staples. And many people have stapled without a problem. It's not a big deal.

It all depends. For sure it could be way faster than 60 days. There is no set number of days.

You don't need to worry about that. If you were in security checks, you would not be asked to redo the medical. You have already passed the security checks and are in the end stages. Your medical was probably refused only because it had been too long since the last one. I know it is hard to have...

    Husband used an FBI channeler.......

I think a lot of it depends on the VO and how efficient they are. Some never respond to emails. Some are very slow.

    Mexico

Yes but they were specifically talking about the PGR which I believe is only for Mexican citizens. The problem is that the other poster didn't realize she wasn't in Mexico. Because it's pretty rare someone in here isn't. Just miscommunication.

    Husband used an FBI channeler.......

You should wait and send it all together in my opinion. Otherwise it can get messy and complicated.

When does the visa expire? Because nothing can extend it. I think she will have to land 6 weeks after giving birth. The baby can be sponsored.

An immigration officer told us that being denied for a visa is a red flag but overall NOT a big deal. Getting denied for a visitor's visa is common especially when a spouse is in Canada and I have read of many people here getting their visas after being denied once or even more than once for a...

How I organized our applcation and a summary of all helpful tips I have learned

I stapled EVERYTHING. It does not matter. We have been in Canada for over 6 months. =) Also - everything was in one large pile in exact order of the checklist. Don't over complicate things! And don't leave everything loose - that would be a nightmare to figure out. Paperclip or staple.

    Question about building Canadian credit

Royal Bank ran my US credit report but still made me give $1000 for a credit card even though I have great US credit. I guess it is just up to the account manager.

    Question about building Canadian credit

Anyone know how to get the best exchange rate on the USD? I get paid in USD and I lose about $11.50 for every 500 right now and wondering if there is a better way. (I currently have a US savings with Royal Bank of Canada and do online transfers)

    Mexico

Congrats on surviving the chaos! We had a toddler and a cat - no connection though but it was pretty stressful. Landing itself was easy, it's all the luggage, the 3 hour drive to the airport, staying in an airport hotel - with a cat! LOL! Totally worth it but glad that is all over.

You can get married in the US and no it won't affect your Canadian application if you worked illegally in the US. You will have to get FBI clearance though.

    Tracking PR card

I don't know exactly when our ecas went to Complete but it was about a month or so. We knew the PR card had been shipped when my husband's mailing addressed changed to Canada. (Physical address was Canada already)
