selling property in country of origin

Thanks Amadan, that is good to know. This would definitely change things. I expect the price to not move massively from the fair market value it has now. I became a temporary Canadian resident in 2010 and a permanent Canadian resident in 2014. Of course the price I paid over 10 years ago was a...

selling property in country of origin

Hope it's ok to hi-jack this thread. Thank you so much for the insight, Rosie 1957. I have a condo in my home country that I purchased over 10 years ago and which is currently rented out. After years of losses, the property prices have finally gone up slightly. So far, I have rented in Toronto...

    Landing from Ottawa - Prescott?

That was my understanding too... I am sure that if I entered Canada with it and the immigration officer entered the number into the system, it would show up as invalid but I had really anticipated them to remove it or put an "invalid" stamp on it or something. Makes me almost want to travel to...

    Landing from Ottawa - Prescott?

Hi, Just curious - had your work permit expired? I landed a week ago - my work permit was left in the passport and the CoPR I keep as a separate document, it wasn't stapled into the passport. The work permit did not even get a "invalid" stamp or anything.

    After Landing Procedures Questions

Hi, I think I can help you with this: Living here on my 2nd work permit since 2010, OHIP coverage. No dependents. Landed March 23 at Pearson. Since it was after midnight, the Service Canada booth was not open – I understand that during their opening hours, you can complete the SIN renewal...

My landing experience @ Tsawwassen BC

Re: My landing experience @ Tsawwassen BC Congrats on landing at such a young age - that is awesome - and sharing this experience. Will surely help some people who want to land the same way. Well, I don't know which industry you are in - I would still consider going to university...

Landing in Pearson (T1) on a Sunday past midnight

That worked perfectly, thanks again for this information. Just for future reference of others in the same situation: The officer at Immigration sent me to CBSA. No wait time at all, I must have been on one of the last flights coming in. The process only took a few minutes. The officer was very...

Landing in Pearson (T1) on a Sunday past midnight

Thanks for the input. That looks like there may be an issue if the plane is even slightly delayed. On the other hand, I can't imagine there is not a solution for that. If I can't land this time, it's not the end of the world, it would have been convenient. Waiting at the airport until 8 am is...

Landing in Pearson (T1) on a Sunday past midnight

Hi, I will finally land with my next trip coming back from the US. Don't have any planned travel in April/May so thought this was a good time to do it. My flight will be getting in close to midnight on a Sunday. I understand I will go to the visitors line at the far right (where I went when I...

    March 2013 Applicants

See - you overtook me in the end. I will leave the country a few times over the next couple of weeks but won't land until in two months - in order not to run into problems with travel while waiting for the PR card. Congrats on landing!

    March 2013 Applicants

Good news to share today :-) Received an email from the lawyer with my CPR in pdf and asking where they should courier the originals to. About 10 months processing time - I call that very efficient. Thank you so much everyone on this board who has helped me with my questions. Good luck to...

    March 2013 Applicants

I am sure there must still be people waiting. I am done now but only received the request Nov 29. Zero movement on the file before that. With the holidays in between - don't worry too much, it'll arrive eventually. Did you submit all other documents upfront?

Well when I saw the recent updates I said to myself, I'd better check the status too. Things are really progressing quickly now, I also had the "decision made" on there today. It should progress fairly quickly now :-)

    March 2013 Applicants

Hi, I got my request for medicals on the same day as you but already completed them on Nov 30. They must have gotten the results sometime in December as I received a paper copy of my results in the mail. When I checked my status last week, it was still "in process" with nothing else. When I...

    Medical Results

That is not correct. It depends what you agreed with the doctor where you did your medicals. In my case, I had the option to pay 30$ extra to get a copy of the results mailed to me. I received those 2.5 weeks after I took the exam. It's probably different from doctor to doctor.
