Hi,

I will finally land with my next trip coming back from the US. Don't have any planned travel in April/May so thought this was a good time to do it. My flight will be getting in close to midnight on a Sunday.

I understand I will go to the visitors line at the far right (where I went when I first entered a few years ago and picked up my physical work permit), is that right?

I will bring my passport (which has the work permit in it), the confirmation of permanent residence letter I received from the lawyer, my driver's licence (to confirm my residential address), my SIN card.
Anything else?

I assume they will be working there as long as planes come in, but just wanted to check as the time is a little odd. Anybody else landed past midnight?

Don't expect any problems (immigration process is usually very quick, never had an issue and I enter/exit 5-10 times a year), but how much time does this normally work? Just asking as I have a (Canadian) friend traveling with me and don't want her to be waiting for me forever.

Would appreciate to hear others' experiences.

It would be a CBSA office at the airport.

Perhaps this is what you're looking for:

Thanks for the input. That looks like there may be an issue if the plane is even slightly delayed. On the other hand, I can't imagine there is not a solution for that.

If I can't land this time, it's not the end of the world, it would have been convenient.

Waiting at the airport until 8 am is certainly not an option. I have to be back at work on the Monday morning.

I'll see how it goes and will report back.

CBSA remains until the last international flight is cleared.

That worked perfectly, thanks again for this information.

Just for future reference of others in the same situation:
The officer at Immigration sent me to CBSA. No wait time at all, I must have been on one of the last flights coming in. The process only took a few minutes. The officer was very friendly and welcomed me to Canada which was nice.

The SIN card renewal did not work at that time of course but that's ok. Easy enough to do it downtown - I was just happy that I was able to complete my landing at that hour.

Steps left to do: SIN card renewal at Service Canada (City Hall or 55 John Street only on Mondays) and health card renewal at Service Ontario (777 Bay Street - the one downtown at Victoria Street would only process me going forward, not for the change from temporary to permanent).
