The typical pre-pandemic cutoff for CEC was about 450+. These are people with Canadian degrees and usually have only one year of experience in their jobs, they also usually have good English scores and are young. Nothing is justified for scores below 450; they're flat out old and/or under-qualified with poor English skills.

Canadian immigration has become more of a charity these days. Guess Canada is looking to downgrade to what it was 50 years ago.

They're going that way for sure. People here think Canada is #1 in the world in terms of immigration because they have fantastic schools and an amazing inland option. Reality is most people even consider Canada because of the outland options. Had Germany or UK started an outland path tomorrow, Canada's immigration economy would go down to next to zero in 6 months.

Just that I’ve seen inlanders struggle to get decent score just becoz some English exam ranks their score as mediocre. These people with lives built in Canada, working hard for their family. And the English exam and CRS dictates their future. And then one day they’re forced to leave.

This is not about prioritarisation man. Each country is looking for skilled immigrants such is Australia, US, UK or Canada. If you are not skilled you will have troubles to come there, simple as that if you will only invite low skilled, older people you will end up in a big s*** teoubles after few years as your wconomy will suffer. You will not have enough young workers to keep up paying taxes lol also as a country you are loosing competition each should group should have equal chances and its own immigration paths

I understand bro... However you need to consider students who are currently studying or got admission for next intake. Most of them might not even have EE profile as they will be waiting for their course to finish. In the meantime, their siblings might get PR and they can easily add those points too in their profile. Either way, if Canada wants to continue with inland applicants, then forget about logics and stats... Waiting for FSW since jan and after every draw, we used to believe that next one will be FSW.. but nothing as of now and no clarity whatsoever about whats gonna happen next. Anyways, i will one of the happiest person if IRCC starts to conduct FSW Draws

I was in Australia for 8 years before being kicked out becoz couldn’t get decent IELTS score.

I’ve now got 8s in both ILETS and PTE but it’s too late.

visa expired last year and in India now.

Sorry to hear that happened to you mate. I can't imagine having to leave after 8 years. But truly, the whole idea of skilled immigration (there are different branches too, like trades immigration as we all know) is built on top of young and skilled candidates. Inland activities like inland degrees etc already get additional points. English score requirements are understandable if you think about it, because that's the country's language and the country wants candidates to speak it well.

What about outlanders, some people are not even living in a country where Engiah is the first language and they are still able to learn Wnglish and get a proper score. I was saying the test and score dictate their future… that’s all. But that’s the way of the world.
