Thanks! Yes, I also looked up these details. Just wasn't sure if it's "appropriate" to contact a mp if one hasn't even started living in his/her jurisdiction. Well, hopefully I'll just get approved SOON! : )

If your wife is a Canadian Citizen it shouldn't matter.

After my MP contact My local Visa office this is the new update from my visa office..

  • The criminality verifications are in process.
  • The security verifications have not been initiated.
  • As per our current processing times, most applications in this category are processed in a timeframe of 12 months. Various factors can affect the time it takes to process an application. Rest assured that all efforts are being made to ensure efficient processing of the application.
  • If the application is approved: the applicant will need to send their passport to the Canadian visa office, and
  • the officer will affix a visa (if applicable) in the applicant’s passport and will issue the confirmation of permanent residence document which the applicant will present at the port of entry in order to be granted the status of permanent resident of Canada
Any one on this stage can also .. how long can it be in this stage before moving to the next stage .. this is my 13 Months ..

Your MP gave you an appointment to discuss your application?

Ah I hear you. Mentally this waiting game gets to us, I have been there. From my experience when my husband sent the web inquiry on the 1 year mark, they went silent for 13 days. Then everything happened in 2 days.
That's why I'm saying don't worry about BGC etc. My husbands online account has not been updated since March 2019 and he received his passport back already.
Hang tight :)

S_N_10, I think same thing happened to me. Status changed to we are processing your background a two days before. Next day I receieved Pre-arrival for my wife and then the same day ecas changed to Decision Made. I remember reading your post that your changed to decision made. After hoe many days you received Passport request email? Trying to get an understanding.

By the way, we were both July 9th, 2018applicant I believe, I received a PFL July 12, 2019 and that's why it took an extra couple of months otherwise the whoel process would have been done by now. They are almost right about 1 year mark.

In any case let me know how long it took to get the passport request email for you.

Regards,

@umairz, that's a great news that Decision has been made. My husband's passport was requested with 2 days after the decision was made. We mailed out the passport on August 1st and received it back on August 6th (that included weekend). Their turnaround was really quick once the DECISION MADE. His Pre Arrival letter was included in his PPR.

Oh I did the same thing and it was a total waste of time. The MP did not tell me anything different from what I read on the website. I even spoke to him yesterday. He left a message on my phone no update to my file.
