Hi.

I don't think anyone receives the hardcopy of the book, it is available in different formats at this link:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...ate/publications-manuals/discover-canada.html
you can get the pdf format, an audio file (my favourite), large print format, html....and you can also order a hardcopy free of charge (mine got to me within 5 business days of ordering 2 copies).
I did not receive a copy either. I opted to borrow from my library ( save the trees!) And online reviews. It's good to read Discover Canada but the online review helps you sort out what's important to remember. Good luck!

I have to travel soon, and i haven't received a test date yet. Should I inform CIC about my travel dates to avoid rescheduling the test in case they send me an invite?

Could you please share the links of the online reviews?

Ok I did my FP on Jan 4th... I have been checking my emails since then, there is no test invite email.
Today I called CIC and I was told that an email was sent to me on January 23rd notifying me to write my test on February 26th. I checked ECAS and it shows that I have been invited to come and write the test on Feb 26th.

I can confirm I have not received any email from CIC for test.

Please do not depend on your emails. If you are waiting, be proactive. Call CIC. If I didn't call them today, or before February 26th, I could have missed my test date. Life was busy that I nearly dropped the ball on this - don't wait on just email. Check ECAS and/or call CIC as frequent as possible.

Please update my status.... I am excited and nervous. 13 days to memorize the book.
Thank you very much. I will start studying tonight - hopefully :)

Passed the exam today 20/20 , the exam was an okay for me i can't say it's easy and i can't say its hard. The questions are tricky but if you READ the Discover Canada about 3-4 times you'll passed. I recommend you read the book and just take few sites for practice exam but don't depend on the practice site. Its a must to read the book.

Hi,

I see status update on my ECAS

“We sent you correspondence on February 14, 2019. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required”

I haven’t received any email yet, and I’m going to call them on Monday to confirm what they require. Is it request for FP usually?

If it’s request for FP, I’m outside Canada on vacations for 2 months. Is it possible i can get FP done from home country (Pakistan), though I’m a resident of Canada.

Thanks

The test was definitely worded and designed differently than I expected. Instead of reading the study guide I opted for listening to the audio version available on the same link that the study guy PDF is. I also practiced online via the following:
http://www.citizenshipcounts.ca/quiz

http://www.v-soul.com/onlinetest/

About the test itself I was surprised that there were a few questions that asked you to answer true or false and during my studies I didn’t encounter any like that.

I didn’t expect to get 19/20 right. I skipped 7 questions on the first round answering them. Then I just went back and checked everything. I was done within. 17 minutes.

Once outside I didn’t have to wait a whole 5 minutes. An officer called me to the interview room and congratulated me and told me o had passed and told my score and I was like! NO WAY! She chuckled. She just asked me for my passports and my PR card. Didn’t look at any of my diplomas they were my proof of English. She did ask me about an unreported exit of Canada I had done via land and had failed to include in the calculator. I said it had slipped my mind and she asked how long I was away and I said I was just gone for 24 hours. She said she had no concerns about my file and said that I should hear about my ceremony invite within 2 months.

Hope that helps.
Congratulations
