Hi everyone,

Kindly wanted to ask if anyone ever had to go for finger prints twice. I have been told to do my finger prints again one day after doing my test. Is this normal? If it is then why wouldn't the officer just tell me after the test(during the interview)? After doing the finger print, how long do I expect to wait before hearing back? The last finger print I did was almost a year now.

Please advise all.
There is a RCMP clearance after you submit your application and another one after your test before a Decision can be made. The officer usually advises next step as RCMP clearance - if your clearance request needed fingerprints - then you got to get those done. Timeline i would not know but the officer that interviewed me explained the process.

Hi Ancan,

Thanks fort the information. I only thought it was just the one clearance prior to the test.
I hope someone gives us an idea in the timeline for decision to be made after the second finger prints are completed :)

I have oath tomorrow and one of the requirement states that “ must bring with you;
 All of the original documents in your possession – Immigration Record of Landing (IMM1000) or Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM5292 or IMM5688).
What does this means? I understand that they mean to say to bring all landing papers in original that one have in possession.
Is my understanding correct and they are not asking to bring all original documents e.g educational etc.
Thx

bring all landing papers in original that one have in possession.

No harm to carry other orginal educational documents etc. We never know what theycan ask. Usually they won’t. I carried all originals whatever I have for the whole family which I keep one file for each person.
