Oct applicants no AOR and reapply

The anxiety is coming from the fact that an applicant has not received an AOR and he doesn’t know the reason.

There are only 3 reasons:

1. Application returned and lost in mail. (This is most challenging situation because it is hard to find out if yours returned).

2. Application is in line for processing/Data entry or CIC needs additional request sent to other organization like RCMP along your application.

3. They misspelled the email or it went to spam. (you can check ecas with your client ID for this issue)

CIC is processing applications in Batch meaning they are bundle a bunch of application and do them together. They are assigned to different officers. These officers must finish their batch before start a new one. But this doesn’t mean all batches are equal. There are incidences when a new batch assigned to a different group of officers that have finished their first batch. Therefore, you can see someone from 16 Oct got their AOR and one from Oct 12 hasn’t.

If you reapply your application will go to a different batch but because you already have another one, then these two needs to be consolidated. This may cause some delays to your application.

Overall I would wait for a little while so all of application in my batch cleared before start inquiry about the application. My application delivered Oct 12 and no AOR yet!

Just for sake of argument: if I have sent the application by courier, and they signed for it, meaning they have received it, and then they have lost it, when I reapply could I just provide a photocopy of the police certificate (the original of which is in the package that they misplaced) or do I need a new one, hence more money and above all more time?

I would absolutely send in the original again, no question about it.

So here's something to keep you busy while your file gets processed for AOR: Get going on applying for another PCC as you ready for re-applying. By the time you're done with this process, I would bet my bottom dollar you will have received your AOR, but hey, at least it will make you feel like you're doing something other than waiting and worrying.

Why didnt you send a copy in the 1st file? If copy is allowed in the 2nd application, then it should be allowed in the 1st file as well? For IRCC, its either original or copy. they have no idea that you ever had a previous file. for them, they have misplaced nothing. get it?

even if you prove they misplaced and they acknoledge, dont think they will compromise on a copy if the requirements ask for original. this is my take on your question.

If you don't agree with me, please just ignore this post. This thread is created for those who need help, not the troll.
You’re advise is the type of advice that will cause issues for applicants. There is currently no reason for anyone who hasn’t received the AOR from October to be concerned.

I really don't want to argue with you but you, the guy who has the same timeline as mine and got IP two weeks ago, are advising others to wait! I am really interested in knowing how others still waiting feel about your comments.

I haven't even applied yet and still I agree with what jsm0085 said. I understand the anxiety but really at least what I am trying to do is to make clear that there is no reason to be anxious:
- Before Oct 11, AORs took 3-4 weeks
- There was a lot of applications around Oct 11 and the following days
- IRCC confirmed that staff hasn't been increased
- This means the average AOR time will go up, by basic math
- This means it is normal that many haven't received AOR yet. If everyone had received AOR by now, the average would still be 3-4 weeks which is impossible, see above.

Generally speaking there are the following concerns raised in this an similar threads:
1. It is being criticized that AORs are not issued on a day-by-day basis (e.g. that people on Oct 25 received AOR already, but others on Oct 13 haven't received it yet). This is a valid point to make and I also don't think it is particularly great that this is the case. Still, nothing can be changed about it. Why IRCC does it like that none of us will be able to understand in detail since none of us know how exactly they work in Sydney.
2. Another concern is that people fear that their applications are lost. In another thread, someone quoted a call centre agent like this: "It is possible that there are isolated cases of applications getting lost. But not that a large scale of applications get lost." Couldn't have said it better. The mere fact that so many people in this forum are concerned that their applications are lost does in fact prove the opposite: There are too many people suspecting that there applications are lost to make lost applications a possible explanation. Also note that every day there is someone who has been waiting "forever" now suddenly received AOR.

On the other hand, these are the things you can do:
A. Do nothing and wait.
B. Try to investigate where your application is right now. That is doomed to fail since before AOR, your application is invisible in the system.
C. Assume that your application got lost and reapply. Apart from the additional effort, this only means that you are clogging the system further since there will be even more applications to be dealt with. And as explained above it is just not reasonable to assume that so many applications got lost.

Then regarding the critical comments by others about people like me who post these things: You are posting about your concerns regarding your application in a public forum. So I am assuming you want to hear other peoples' thoughts on the matter. If you don't want to hear their thoughts I don't understand why anyone would post in this forum.

Sure I could just say "You are right, where is your application, damn it! Unbelievable!". But actually I think/hope that it is more helpful if I try to explain what I think are the more rational points behind this issue to ease peoples' minds.

Finally two points that I made earlier in a different thread (or this thread, I lost track):
1. Why are you so obsessed with getting AOR fast? In the past, there were applications which got AOR very fast and then took forever to be processed. At the same time, there were applications which took forever to get AOR and then made it through the system very fast. It makes no sense to be fixated on AOR so much.
2. Have you forgotten, how the PR process worked? It was the same thing, you hear nothing forever and in the end you made it still.

Hello Guys

I am also one of the unfortunate (October 16th ) which did not get AOR yet... I know two more people in my circle with same fate... I tried calling CIC but no luck... I think i will wait for 2 more weeks... the reason is that during my express entry process i remember every one got AOR but i never received any AOR but eventually i got my processing done in time

As per canada visa spread sheet, there are 40 people from October 16th who did not get AOR... lets say from all over canada there another 50-60 people who did not get AOR ..i am pretty sure CIC did not loose 100 applications....it will constitute a class action law suit..... Also CIC automated voice states that ""if your application is received after october 19th, we did not start processing "" may be they are working on before October 19th...

Good news for Oct 12,13,16 applications. I just received AOR app received on Oct 16. I am among those folks who called CIC and agents told app is returned or mail is lost.
