Hi,
I need to apply for my first passport after citizenship. I moved to a new city less than 2 years ago, so the Canadian citizens I know here are for less than the minimum of 2 years. I have some friends in other far provinces who could be guarantors. However, sending them the photo to be signed and getting those documents back will be costly and time-consuming (more now with the incoming Canada Post strike).
I wonder if using the Statutory Declaration in Lieu of Guarantor would delay my application much. I need to get the passport in less than 20 business days, so I'm considering paying extra for the express option.
Can you share your experience using the Statutory Declaration form? What are your thoughts on what to do?
Thank you!
