Anyone has suggestions: I have received invitation to apply under the Express Entry. My friends are getting their PRs with 4to6 months. My family sponsorship application is over a year now and no news. Anyone knows whether I can apply under the Express Entry or I have to withdraw my application first?

You cannot have two PR applications in progress. However, withdrawing when you are so close to the end seems silly to me, only to wait longer. I think if I was you, I would find out what stage your sponsorship is at. You may find that you are almost finished.

I have read contradicting information regarding the implied status in relation to the application for a new type of work permit.

My understanding is that, because it's a different work permit, he would not have the implied status as a worker, so he would have to stop working when the PGWP expires until he gets the OWP. Implied status applies when you renew the same type of permit. However, he would have implied status as a visitor between the time the PGWP expires until receiving the OWP.

However, as you applied for the OWP on June 3, it's very likely that you will get the OWP before the PGWP expires.

Applying for the OWP gives the implied status as a visitor (from the expiration of the current PGWP status until CIC makes a decision on the OWP), so no more steps are needed to keep him in legal status.

It looks like you have received the AIP. If you see Decision Made on both sides on ECAS then you`re waiting for your local immig. office to invite you for the landing. You do not need neither medical nor background check for the parents. Decision Made on both sides means usually you`re done. Don`t worry about SA or DM letter. I landed this week and never received AIP or DM letter, just my sponsor received SA. You are at the end of the road IMHO.

Is this the landing interview? I am still having hard time believing it's done. It all happened so fast within a week's time. We received only the previous email before this one. Thanks to the forum for helping us all.

Thank you. I ordered for the notes. Nothing sustaintial. Background in process, eligibility not started, no SA, no AIP. I mean nothing going on. I think they use couple of days to do this.

congratulations! yes this is your landing. And some people have hard time to believe it, but it really can go fast once they work on a file and your case is another example of that. So for all those waiting, stay positive, your turn will come!

Sponsor side shows DM on July 18, 2017
Applicant side says Medical received.

No Movement since. But still hopeful the Landing letter comes soon.

My application was received by CIC same day as yours, but still no AIP or SA
